Do you have the patch ? I don't think you could change it before the patch. If you do then it's under the gameplay setting in options.Comment

I don't think so. My understanding is that real FT means player shoots according to his rating. I've tried it with very quick and late results, and don't see a difference.Comment

Yeah, real FT does mean the player shoots according to his rating only, so whatever input you give on the controller during a FT attempt won't mean a thing."We were expecting a miracle with Elite, but instead we got Jesus at halfcourt."

Re: The College Hoops 2K8 esoteric information thread (learn and discuss the arcane)
I'm having a heck of a time deciding on what pb to use for which team. Post, perimeter, or balanced.
I'm trying to decide on some criteria but was wondering what you guys do. If a team runs a Motion offense do you use a certain pb or does it just matter on personell and/or tendancies.
Here is the criteria I've decided on with very favorable results.
I check out the teams tendencies I'm getting ready to play. I find it in "STANDINGS" then push the right analog and scroll until I get to tendencies.
It's broken down to 3 pt, medium, and close. If 3 pt is 40% or higher I go with the Perimeter PB. If Close is 40% or over I choose Low Post. If none of them are over 40% or Medium is I choose the Balanced PB.
Simple I know but I've been so pleased with the results that I thought I'd share.Comment

I've downloaded Koshi's Perimeter, Low Post, and Balanced PB's and have used those 3 exclusively - for now.

Re: The College Hoops 2K8 esoteric information thread (learn and discuss the arcane)
Good info on this thread. Ive read thru it and found some helpful tips regarding plays in playbooks. However, altho i noticed u have listed the all the plays and how each one works, i was wondering if there was a list anywhere of all the plays that show whether the offensive play should be used against a zone or man2man. As ive practiced with the different plays, ive noticed that almost all of them are designed against either a zone or man. Also, some work well against certain types of zones than others.
Instead of having to run every single play against every single zone to see what fits, is there a list like that i could find??Comment

Just to put my two cents in... I read every thread twice, and decided to drop help defense to 0 and help recovery to 0. Heck of a difference. Bigs get there looks now. Also,I put in the playbooks that were on here.. Last thing I did was up the fast paced teams' offensive tempos, pressure, and rebounding/fast break.. Teams get out on the break immediately... and they guard better. Thanks to everyone who has chimed in.. this is evolving into an even better game, now.. Starting my open legacy today.. Thinking of Kansas, Carolina, Mich St, or Ohio State. Any thoughts?NCAA Basketball- Duke
NCAA Football- The U
NFL- San Francisco 49ers
NBA- Phoenix Suns
MLB- Atlanta Braves

Re: The College Hoops 2K8 esoteric information thread (learn and discuss the arcane)
Does anyone know what it means when the player's icon will get those little red bars on it, or when it turns green? I assume that green is good, somehow, because it happens with 6th man advantage. The red bars come and go and I have no clue what they mean. I've scoured the internet and haven't found an answer yet. Any ideas?Originally Posted by Briman123

I believe the green bars means that that's a good range for the particular player to shoot from and the red means it's out of his range and probably won't go in...kinda like Villanova last night sadly...I Want My $2 Dollars

NHL- Flyers

Its the hot/cold meter. Red means the player is hot and you should get him the ball. Blue means the player is ice cold.
The yellow cell phone bar shows you the players "sweet" spots. When its full then that player likes to shoot from that spot. When its empty the opposite is true.Comment
