I tried to download the patch. I get on xbox live but no update is there. Am I doing something wrong? I know I do not have the patch because in my legacy there are more then 30 5*. Please help!

A message to download the update should appear upon starting up the game. If it doesn't try clearing your hard drive cache then starting up the game. If that doesn't work then check your privacy settings and make sure you are allowed to download game content.

Are the ratings of the assistant coaches (and my head coaches' ratings for that matter) important? Really all I look for in assistant coaches is a high scout rating so they can scout recruits. As for me, I'm only worrying about building my charisma.


tl;dr: As a head coach, if I have a high offense rating will my team shoot better and etc.?

After being disappointed in NCAA10 I threw 2K8 back in and can not see how anyone thinks NCAA10 is the better game. The only thing I like in NCAA10 is the stick passing and the crowd noise. Everything else from top to bottom 2K8 kills NCAA10.
IMO or course. I had more fun in the 2 games I played last night with 2K8 than I did in 20 with NCAA10.

I've been saying this since NCAA 10 came out, that if you could combine its motion offense and presentation with the depth of 2K8 you would have the near perfect college basketball game. Overall, I will always take 2K8 over NCAA 10 in a head to head battle but I do enjoy the good things that NCAA 10 has to offer.

Did anyone ever fix the issue of the bench players getting SOOOO many minutes?

I would like to know this as well. I had the game for PS2 and didn't have any patch. Some games it always seemed I had a starter who barely played (not foul trouble) and a bench player that would get over 35 minutes in his place. Wouldn't always be the same players involved and could never figure it out. I was thinking of picking this up for my new 360 but wanted to know if this was an issue there as I enjoy simming and games drive me crazy when statistics don't make sense.

Well I bought it for my Xbox 360 and the bug with bench players getting so many minutes is not an issue, seems it was a PS2 bug.

On a side note, there is so much more to this game on the PS3 and 360 versions compared to the PS2. Much more in-depth.

Also, does anyone else notice that during the recruiting periods out of season, you can still do the bonus drills? It says they will not influence your ratings but they definitely do. Some of the shooting drills are nearly impossible though, or at least not with my sharpshooters from South Dakota State.

I just go through and auto set the CPU teams rotations, takes about 45 minutes but its worth it.

Is there any way to get one and dones? I would like John Wall to leave after his first year and Id like to edit some recruits so they'll leave after their first year. Can potential fix this?

If you want to "force" a player to leave, you could always edit his class to a "senior"? Wouldn't that work?

You have to make sure their potential is at least over 80-90 and then their overall will probably have to be 87+ as well.

I haven't tested it, but if you're in an open legacy you can edit players at any point of the season, so you could allow them to play most of the season rated whatever, and then raise them around tournament time or something and they might still leave.

Any advice on a slider set to use to get the CPU to shoot less 3 pointers? I just played a regular season game on my legacy, AA difficulty, 14 min qtrs, 31 of 60 CPU shots were 3s. I usually play zone, so maybe that's why they shoot so many. Right now the tendency is on 40 and they're still shooting a lot. I'll lower it to 35 and see if that works. Should I raise the other shot tendencies as well to balance it out?

Lower your 3pt shot tendency with respect to the other tendencies. The larger your number for your tendency means that they'll shoot earlier in the shot clock. For example, if you max them all out, they'll chuck up a shot very fast, the location being determined from the individual player tendencies. if you minimized all of them, they wouldn't attempt a shot until very late in the shot clock.

Amazing thread. Im still reading through it but I have 2 questions, I searched the thread ande couldnt find the answers.

1. What is that little meter under the players? Ir looks like an online connection bar and it has 4-5 bars and its usually yellow. Im doing the all american challenges and I notice sometimes theres one bar and sometimes it shoots up to 5 and then down to 2 when I shoot, etc. I thought it was confidence but that doesnt make sense. Theres nothing in the manual about it! Please help!

2. The AA Challenge for post offense is incredibly stupid. I cant do the fadeaway at all. It says disengage L_stick away from basket which makes no sense. Im doing fadeaways and getting absolutely no credit for them. I left go of the l stick and push the right stick away from the hoop and do a fadeaway and it deosn nothing. I let go of post up and try, nothing. How do I do this?!

I can answer question 1 for you. That shows the likely hood of the player making that shot from where they are standing on the floor. The more bars the better the chance of scoring. A centre who catches the ball at the 3pt line most likely won't have any bars but they will increase the closer he gets to the basket. (Assuming he is a centre with traditionally high post o skills)
