Why is it so hard for everyone to understand that the Mavs are better off without Nash? Nobody ever claimed that Terry and/or Harris are better players than Nash, but they fit our system MUCH better. We dont want someone who plays NO defense, despite how great he is at the offensive end.

Re: Question to the House: Why Isn't Dirk in MVP Discussion?
Why doesnt everyone do it? Maybe because its proven time and time again that this system doesnt get it done in the Playoffs. Trust me, I saw it happen several times in the past decade - great season, look to be in position to make a title run, then you play a defensive-minded team and you lose.Actually D'Antoni's system needs a player like Steve Nash. If it was so easy to run this kind of system why doesn't everyone do it? Why don't teams just start converting their pgs in 20 and 11 men shooting above 50%? You say that Nash benefits from the system, yet discredit the system Dallas is using where they place more emphasis on defense, plus its not like Dallas didn't do anything to replace Nash. If I'm not mistaken they brought in guys like Stackhouse, Jamison, and Walker and eventually traded them for their current core so you can't compare a Nash less Dallas with the team they have now.Jesus saves

Dirk is always in the discussion. No whether he's in the discussion as a top 2-3 candidate, that can be debated.Comment

Re: Question to the House: Why Isn't Dirk in MVP Discussion?
you have the floor. debate it. why shouldn't he be in the top 3? because it isn't just him a nd a team full of role players? is it because he has help?"Never trust a big butt and a smile."-Ricky Bell

Re: Question to the House: Why Isn't Dirk in MVP Discussion?
why wouldnt he be one of the top two candidates? because of his supporting cast?
if that is the case then Dallas should have 3 all-stars this season. They havent had 3 different all-stars in the PREVIOUS three seasons combined.Comment

Re: Question to the House: Why Isn't Dirk in MVP Discussion?
k another question, somewhat OT....who should make the all-star team between Shawn Marion and Josh Howard in your opinion?
btw, the fact that you put Nash so extremely far ahead of Dirk is crazy and pretty much takes a lot of credibility away from any or your lists in the future imo

Oh, I agree completely... If it were up to me, after watching Dirk the past few games, I would have to say that not only is he top 3, he may be my #1-2 candidate at the moment. I mean, Nash is having a GREAT season, but to me, I think Dirk deserves it a little more at this point.Twitter - WTF_OS

You'd be surprised WT.
Dirk is definitely top 3 but that #1 spot is a hard spot to take and keep.
Can show you but this is or was supposed to be just a Dirk thread. We have people here posting about the Spurs game and all kinds of crap.Comment
