    Re: Clutch

Give me Ray Allen and Kobe any day of the week. I actually think Ray can make tougher shots in the clutch than Kobe, but Kobe just makes them more frequently.

      Re: Clutch

Yes, I know. I was just giving an example of another shot. Duncan's a clutch performer, AND a clutch-time performer, but not necessarily a "last shot" performer. His two main shots were more lucky than clutch.
Oh I know. I was posing my response to AlexBrady(cant quote on OS Mobile). I understand and acknowledge that Duncan has played and showed up when it mattered, but for people to say they would let him shoot the last shot? Hell, im sure Pop wouldn't even want him taking the last shot of the game unless it's a similar situation like he had against Phoenix last year.

Because his playoff averages for FT% goes up from 87.2% in the regular season to 92.5%.

        His FG% goes from 47.2% to 51.8%

His PPG goes from 22.7, to 26.8.

His RPG goes from 8.6 to 10.1.

Can we put this nonsense to rest already? In the playoffs, everything is "clutch".

Kobe missed clutch free throws yesterday too (that he never deserved to have anyway, but that's another issue). Are we going to throw his accomplishments away too?
Alex doesnt care about pesky facts Matrix. I think facts get in the way of his agenda.

The Former Miss Canada (My favorite Vince nickname, lol) has hit a lot of shots to send games to OT too. You can say a lot about his overall game but he takes and makes some crazy clutch shots.

If Vince Carter isnt clutch, then there dang sure arent many "clutch" players in the league

yeah vc is definitely clutch but i would probably take five or six players over him in crunch time.

Unfortunately, when Dirk's team needed him the most (in the Finals), he was MIA. Dirk is actually a good example of a scorer whose field goal percentage decreases as the game goes on. For example, an elite clutch player like Bryant will come through in the clutch about 70% of the time whether it be through a jump shot, snappy pass, or alert defense. Dirk will come through in the clutch about 40% of the time through fadeaways, set shots, and the ocassional drive (his passes are noticeably sloppier in crunch time).

game 5, series tied 2-2, Mavs down by one....Dirk hits a go ahead shot over Shaq and Haslem with 9 seconds left. That is about as clutch of a shot as you can get.

of course, then an out of control Wade proceeds to get bailed out with a whistle from an out of position Bennett Salvatore with 1.8 seconds left for the winning free throws and Wade is "clutch"

you need to watch the games before you start spouting BS
