Not without moving Mo, Jamison or Raggedy Ann. If they resign LBJ they'll have about $60m on the books going into 2011-2012.

Reinsdorf, Forman, Paxson and Thibs are all going to Ohio to speak with LBJ.

You are assuming the Cavaliers roster would stay the same.

We have gone back and forth on this. You *and pretty much everyone else* ignore back to back 60 win season, several years of being eastern conference contenders and having a pretty deep team with good pieces like Jamison, Mo *who fits LeBron like a freaking glove in talents*, Andy, and yes a young talent like Hickson. Not only are they good pieces for LeBron to play around, but a lot of those guys have value around the NBA *although everyone at OS ignores it.*

The Cavaliers are another superstar away from being title contenders. Are the Clippers? Are the Knicks? Are the Heat and their two players?

The Knicks are the Cavaliers in 2004. I doubt LeBron wants to go back to that again.

You can honestly sit here and say that with the current Knicks roster plus LeBron and another Max, they could compete for championships next year? You are out of your mind.

If he took that deal, he would be taking a step back. The situation in Cleveland is better than the one in New York. And if there was some sort of sign and trade deal to get another player to Cleveland it could look even better.

No, we won't be in contention for the title next year. But in the East, it'll make the playoffs, and after next year, Curry's contract comes off the books and we can go and get another piece, thus putting us in title contention. So one year of waiting in a new environment with a possible run the next year, as opposed to the same old not working thing in Cleveland, is a much better prospect.

Yes, because of the contracts they have. The only one who I can see Cleveland being able to move is Mo but his contract doesn't free up enough space for the Cavs to pursue anyone great.

The Cavs are not terrible but that team doesn't have the pieces to win a title. Their ceiling is being "just short" of winning a title IMO.

The Cavaliers are another superstar away from being title contenders. Are the Clippers? Are the Knicks? Are the Heat and their two players?
No, but the Heat and Knicks have the space to add those superstars without any trades, they can flat out sign two guys - no other team/trade needed. Cleveland has to move some bad contracts to get a superstar. Who is going to give up their star AND take on a bad contract for a guy like Jamison?

Jamison will not be traded. Or, in better terminology, cannot be traded.

However, there would be a market for Mo Williams, Delonte West's not guaranteed contract, Andy and MAYBE Hickson, which depends on the team.

That's more than enough in a sign and trade.

So can Chicago, and already have those pieces in place without having to go get them. They have made the playoffs 5 out of the last 6 years with no LeBron. And can flat out sign two guys and have a much more promising roster.

Windhorst said that if LeBron re-signs, the Cavs could be a sign-and-trade candidate with the Raptors for Bosh. He said he has spoken with people in the Raptors organization who say that Colangelo likes Hickson and "has been interested in Varejao for a while". Add in the expiring (and only partially guaranteed) contract of Delonte West and some other parts (Parker, Moon, Gibson, etc.) and a deal could be made if Bosh wants to join up with LeBron.

How is he taking a step-back? He would be coming here with the side-kick he never had with that 2nd MAX FA. A shooter who can spread the floor in Gallinari. A nice player in Wilson Chandler & a competent PG with Toney Douglas. We also have an owner willing to spend

No one said the Knicks would win a title in Year 1. But as I've said from Day One, he's not winning a title in Chicago next year (unless Chicago can somehow get Bosh/Amare) or Cleveland anyway. Year 2 is where things would get interesting in New York. Neither Cleveland nor Chicago have the free cap space next summer that the Knicks will have.

About this Knicks next year thing. Can someone tell me exactly who on this list below the Knicks will add next year that will put them over the top for a championship? Alot of guys on this list are probably going to reup with their current teams.

                              http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/s...eeAgents-10-11

This is seriously why I'm skeptical about this..."We can add Bron and another MAX guy, plus add someone next year with our cap space."

If CHI added LBJ/JJ or LBJ/Bosh or LBJ/Amare I think that would be enough for a title this year. Not to be favorites, but that could get it done.
