Re: The LeBron James Thread
Kobe did? Apparently you didn't watch that series at all. Or didn't watch the first half of that game. Kobe didn't even play the last 5 mins of the fourth because they were getting blown out. At the beginning of the fourth he had two baskets negated on charges when he was trying to attack the basket. In the 3rd he was still being aggressive and getting to the hoop. A majority of the game he was being doubled before he could even get to the paint and routinely made great passes out of the doubles that no one on his team could cash in. Didn't see LeBron doing ANY of that last night whatsoever.
Oh yea, Kobe also has 2 finals MVP's where he WAS the alpha male. As much as I hate Kobe, I at least respect him.Comment

Watch all of Kobe's passes to lesser players when he is not in tough situations. That's what LeBron did last night.
Damn do you love to unfairly criticize LeBron. Not that all people criticizing LeBron are doing so unfairly, but you personally are way off. Kobe quit. That's all there is to it. Kobe quit. Kobe went diva and quit. But you give Kobe a pass because he won two Finals MVPs after the fact. Cool. Oh, and LOL at the Kobe being doubled thing. Kobe wasn't being doubled in the second half. Just LOL. Anything to crucify LeBron.Bears | Bulls | Cubs | Illinois | #Team3Some

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Kobe's alpha status is beyond question, based entirely on what he has accomplished on the games' biggest stage, but...
You're absolutely right. It's totally ok that the "best player in the league" has decided to roll over and let others bear the brunt of winning the ring he has professed to desire above all other things. What was I thinking?Comment

I'm not questioning Kobe's alpha status. Kobe was the best player on the planet just a few years ago. By your definition, Kobe cannot be an alpha. But then you justified Kobe's quitting as a move to show the front office that he can't do it all. Which you say is okay in maintaining "alpha status". But what LeBron did isn't because LeBron thought somebody else having the ball would actually give his team a better shot at winning.
That's what you said. But if you'd like to create another straw man of what you wish I'd say to further your point, go right ahead.
I work with quotes. You tell me where I said any of the crap you just claimed I said. I'm waiting.Bears | Bulls | Cubs | Illinois | #Team3Some

Re: The LeBron James Thread
You guys are making so many arguments im not even sure what this whole conversation is about
First it was the decision
Then it was he's not clutch
Then he's not MJ
Now its because he's not dominating for us
Its laughable man, because the main reason is, some people here just dont like him
Its not that you guys care about his maturity or his mental well being at allat the one guy's quit is better than the other's
Hahhahah, I agree with you Dre, it's getting good.
One thing though, when you have one encompassing thread, you're gonna get different topics. Just logically speaking, so I'm not surprised that the discussion has shifted so many times.
Both guys quit though. Nobody is worse or better in that regard.Comment

I don't give Kobe a pass for anything, because he didn't quit. I guess we forget LeBron's biggest quit job of all on the whole city of Cleveland, but somehow according to you, he deserves a pass, for one reason or another for anytime he does it. I don't really need to know why.
I guess now I know that a guy can score 8 points in a crucial NBA finals game and stand there lost and watch and still be considered an "alpha" type player. Thank you for your amazing insight lolLast edited by 1Rose; 06-08-2011, 02:18 PM.Comment

Its not even worth it
Its bad when dudes though are defending and justifying quitting just to pound on someone else... take a step back and understand that oneComment

Maybe you need to watch the game again.

Where did I give LeBron a pass for anything? Quit with your absolutely bull generalizations to decide what I've done. I hold LeBron accountable when he makes mistakes. Oh, and LOL again at how I didn't watch the game. Kobe was doubled once, maybe twice in that 2nd half. He just didn't force the issue.Bears | Bulls | Cubs | Illinois | #Team3Some

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I don't see how the situations are at all similar. One has never proven he can lead a team to a title, the other has. One is literally being carried to a title. The other, even when he did play on a team with a superior player, at least significantly contributed during the finals.
Yes, Kobe quit on his team, and it's one of the reasons I'm not a Kobe fan. It's inexcusable. But whether or not he can win as the alpha is unquestionable. He's done it. Some of us are presuming LeBron can, without him having ever done it. On the contrary, he's shown us that he sometimes folds under pressure. And he hasn't been particularly impressive through 8 finals games.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I do agree, but im not even talking about the last 500 days of this thread, just the convo between the same 3 people. I feel bad for mkoz because he's debating like 6 different things all at once
Its not even worth it

And I'm not presuming LeBron will, just that he can. Big difference. He's shown me enough in big games in the past to make me believe that he can do it in the Finals. Who knows, maybe he'll go off in one of these next three games. The series isn't over yet.Bears | Bulls | Cubs | Illinois | #Team3Some
