Man, there is nobody in the history that has been both more hyped and scrutinized than James. I'm actually starting to feel sorry for him because he literally can't do any good to anyone anymore, except for ESPN, where they will have orgasms when he wins his first title.

He moves the needle in a big way, if he ever gets injured seriously they will drop him like a bad habit. More LeBron coverage = More $ for them.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Whatever man, people do change their opinions just FYI. Try not to box people into comments that were probably made a year ago maybe more.
I may have said CLE couldn't win in the past, but as many others will tell you, I have repeatedly said CLE was good enough, I just wouldn't expect them to beat Boston/LA or even Orlando in 2008 or even some of the other contenders of the time. That doesn't mean they couldn't, it means they would be less favored.
Carry on with whatever else you're talking about because I'm not so sure what that is.
It's all good if you've changed your stance on it, but you're making it seem like I'm giving you crap for doing so when you're still posting like you haven't.Comment

This flop right here shows alot IMO. It shows someone willing to cheat, willing to shortcut. For me, this is not a champion. This is not part of the game to me. Win because you deserve it, this one makes me shake my head
There needs to be a severe penalty for this IMO. Its cheating, no other way to look at it.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Look man...
Everyone may look at it as cheap bail out type of call. But it's part of the game. Until refs stop calling it. Players will keep doing WHATEVER it takes to get a edge. I remember the first time I saw Shaq flop in Laker game I thought I was crazy. But it is just part of the game. You have to sell calls to the ref. And it's a smart play no matter what. It's just another part of the game.

Agreed. I don't like to see it, and I would love the NBA to put a stop to it, but this overanlization, and this talk about how it tells us how Lebron is not a winner, not a champion, doesn't have it, etc. needs to stop.
It's actually another good A-Rod comparison. A-Rod took a lot of flack for a couple plays (slapping the ball out of the pitchers glove, yelling ha at the third baseman while he ran by) and everyone killed him saying how it shows he's not a winner, how a guy like Jeter would never do something like that. Then last year, Jeter has a ball hit his bat, and he spends a good 5 minutes acting like it hit him in the hand, and goes to first base. People got pretty quiet after that, lol. Guys do what it takes to get an edge, and until the NBA stops it, it will get worse. Just a part of this era, it's not a Lebron thing.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
That's one of the problems with today's game. Most players don't play with integrity anymore. One of my big pet peeves is when someone commits an obvious foul and they look around like "what they hell are they calling" or "what did I do"? Same with turnovers. No one owns up to their mistakes and points at themselves and says "my bad". It's always someone else's fault.NFL: Bills

I hate seeing it myself. It really drives me crazy when they miss and then flop. Make the play first then sell the call.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: The LeBron James Thread
If its Ginobili he's a flopmaster
Not in your words WT...but the commentators say it, and the refs act just like I described aboveComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Bad example there. Commentators fawn over Ginobili too when he flops. The only ones that get called out on their flops is Ron Artest and Bosh. Those are the only two I've seen flat out get killed for flops in the game by commentators. Usually the commentators laugh and talk up the smartness of the play and having to sell the call to the officials when Kobe, Fisher, Wade, Bron, Ginobili and others do it. Every once in a while they'll call them on a flop but it has to be just like...ridiculously obvious.Comment
