It's not even a debate than Lebron is better than Bird at this point.

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I do not think Lebron James Is Better Then Larry Legend. This isn't Nostalgia glasses either, people are so quick to dismiss the older players and their contributions to the game over the newer players. Larry Bird was flat out amazing He didn't have the athletic skills of a guy like Jordan or Magic but he never quit. Bird had an extremely high basketball IQ and could literally hit any shot. He had enough size to rebound very effectively and he was pretty damn good at passing the ball as well.
Furthermore The Impact that Larry had on the league is far greater then Lebrons impact. Larry Bird is half the reason why the NBA is so damn popular today. Hell without Larry Bird I don't think the NBA as we know it exists.
As For The Top 10 Realistically right now
1. Jordan
2. Russell
3. Kareem
4. Wilt
5. Bird
6. Magic
7. Duncan
8. Kobe
9. West
10. Shaq
Hell I'll throw in 11 and 12
11. Oscar
12. Hakeem
Lebron still hasn't surpassed those 12 guys. If He continues on the current pace he is going, then I can see him realistically squeezing into the top 6. But he will never be better then Kareem, Russell or Jordan

Re: The LeBron James Thread
LeBron was humbled by Dallas. His whole career, he used the "my team isn't good enough" excuse whenever he got bounced out of the playoffs. Mike Brown wasn't allowed to go all in on him because the Cavaliers organization was too afraid to piss off LeBron.
Fast forward to that Dallas series, where LeBron clearly was the reason the Heat didn't win a title because he wasn't aggressive enough. He wasn't getting his steals or out in transition. He just didn't play well at all. The Heat organization, specifically Pat Riley, laid into the guy. He couldn't use the excuse of team anymore, nor could he hide in the shadows.
The offseason, all we heard about is how overrated LeBron was, or how he was such a choke artist. The offseason lasted longer too, with the lockout, and we still kept hearing about it, and he couldn't show anything. It was basically the perfect circumstances.
Something clicked in LeBron's mind, and he finally realized that he had to become a better teammate. No more "stanky legg" Le-Iso at the top of the key. No more standing in the corner when he didn't have the ball. The guy went out and developed a new style to play. He started to take posting up seriously. He started to grow up a little bit. He became a far better teammate than he ever was in Cleveland.
It's why I can respect LeBron. The guy ripped my heart out, but the guy has transformed himself into the selfish teammate who only focused on his own stats, and made himself into a guy who will do the dirty work if it is needed. LeBron truly only cares about winning now, and can realize that he cannot do all of it by himself. It's okay if he takes a backseat every once and a while.
It's an impressive transformation. Good on him, too. Didn't think he would ever figure it out. Wasn't sure if last year was just luck with the lockout or if he finally figured it out. It's clear that he has finally matured mentally.
As for his standing all time, I don't know. He's clearly one of, if not the most imposing figures to every play the game. The ability to be just a pure workhorse while also being so talented. Is he better than Bird? He's pretty close. He's more talented, but he still has a while to go before I can say he is a better player. His mentality is finally getting to the point that it has always needed to be.Too Old To Game Club

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I'm a huge (if not one of the biggest) Hakeem fan and I don't see how you can put him over LeBron. Let alone a guy like Oscar Robertson or Jerry West (which at this point I'm positive it's the NBA stigma that those two are sacred foundations of the league).
LeBron is flat out better than those 3 there's few if not any argument that can be made for those guys over LeBron.Comment

He was routinely beat these playoffs defending one on one. I believe you're confusing what he does weak side or off the ball, with how he is in isolation situations.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles
