    Brother, this is absolutely false.

LeBron was already a top 30 player in the NBA playing in high school. He would have started on any team in the league during his senior year in high school.

Kobe was way too raw to be starting in the NBA.

I don't think you guys are remembering Kobe accurately when he first came into the league. He showed flashes but it took him a while to adjust. On the other hand LeBron's first NBA game he already looked like an All-Star and franchise player. Kobe absolutely deserved to be a bench player to start his career.

All this talk about being the #1 option to start is irrelevant.

Kobe has a reputation as a ball hog because he doesn't look to get teammates involved, he looks for his shot first. He also chucks up a lot of shots. Yeah he might score 50, but he's going to take 40 shots to get there.
Way to use complete hyperbole there. How many matches has Kobe ever taken more than 40 shots? I remember one off the top of my head. January 2006. Took 46 shots to score an astounding 81 points on 28/46 shooting a and 7/13 from three. The facts are, despite all the difficult shots and long two's he takes, he still impressively has an above average (even very good) FG% for his position. And how can you possibly argue he is a ball hog at this point in his career when i believe he was either first or second in assists for an SG.

            Melbourne...

I'd advise you to stop while you're ahead.

Arguing with Kash in regards to Kobe is like T-Mac in the NBA finals. Pointless.

Lol yeah man i'm not going to continue on Kobe after this, i've seen a couple other people post about Kobe and Kash doesn't really seem to acknowledge that he is still a great player, top 15 all time.

Last thing, Kash, 9 career matches of over 40 shots, so it's obviosuly not a regular occurence. And he only has 1 in the last 5 years. It's not a fair assumption to call Kobe anywhere near a selfish player in 2013. Although his early career is a whole 'nother story. Also doesn't change the fact that he still shoots an above average FG% for a SG. But if you want to keep disliking Kobe as a player, your loss i guess.

I never understood anyone that defended Kobe's fg%. Guess I never will at this point. It's one of those thing I've felt held Kobe back from being even better.

I meant that it is easier to Lebron to score in the paint because he is taller and heavier but yes I do agree with you he takes better shots then Kobe does

This thread was a great read. Never laughed so much in my life. You wanna take LeBron over Larry, cool, but to say there's no argument on the contraire, well, lol. Everyone is so sure of their comparisons, when they are clearly inapplicable, at best. Oh well. Please carry on. Also before someone jumps on my back, I'm also not saying Larry is clearly better than LeBron, just that acting like there's an ocean separating the two is absolutely laughable.

Not to derail this thread any longer, but to shoot 45+ times in a 48 minute game of basketball is ****ing absurd.

                          Just had to say that.

I'm sorry i know i said i was done but I have to say one last thing then ill stop talking about Kobe. What I don't understand is why he's FG% is viewed as such an atrocity when the majority of his career it has consistently been one of the best among SG's. I repeat, he does not have a bad FG% at all for his position. Can someone explain that?

Look there is no defending that. If he would shoot better. He would score more (and probably easier). Kobe is not LeBron in that he drives to the basket for most of his points. But you can't tell me that LeBron gets easier shots than Kobe again. Kobe has taken and hit some of the toughest shots.
