As good as Dork is, I have yet to see a Championship team that wins around a 7 footer that plays like a SF.
It depends on what your team has.
Gasol was perfect for what LA needed.
Dork/Dallas need an INSIDE presence IMO to win the chip. Hopefully Chandler is that dude.Comment

Yeah, I mean, I think it's pretty safe to say Dirk is the better player, but I voted Pau and I stand by it. I just feel like Pau's style is a better fit to be a #1 or a #2 option on offense and just is a better fit on a championship contending team. I'd LOVE to see Dirk get a championship though. Oh lord are we really going to start this discussion up again? LOL
Clearly stated throughout the thread that Dirk is superior to Pau, but in the playoffs I would prefer Pau in most situations/teams.
How many times do I need to say that Dirk is much more likely to get MVP than Pau, but I would still prefer Pau as a Robin? They're both Robins in the grand scheme of things, and Pau's skillset offers much more to a title team than Dirk's.

A PF that plays the perimeter and sometimes rbs vs a SF that rbs harder and can play the shoot the three, but didnt rely on it.....Yes 2 inches and 17 of American Heart vs non-contact Euro Game makes a big difference.
McHale wasnt on the perimeter.

Taking nothing away from Dirk but Chris Broussard sums it up pretty well in an ESPN article a couple months back:
"In most cases (the Michael Jordan Bulls being the lone exception), you need a great perimeter playmaker and a great post player to win titles. If I've got Pau, I've filled one of those roles. If I've got Dirk, I've filled neither."

And JBH we're talking skill set, not height.
They're both Robins, and if your team was destined to never get a true Batman, then yes, Dirk is the choice, the clear choice.
Dirk is much closer to a Batman than Pau is, but Dirk's skill set does not allow him to be a Batman. Therefore since both guys are Robins, and therefore you see GM's split over the decision. There was an actual poll taken by all GM's and it was split 50/50. So your guess would be wrong.
Traditionally and statistically you go with a guy with Pau rather than Dirk.Comment
