Anybody know what OKC's cap situation is looking like? Dwight definitely appears to be a student of the game and I'm sure he understands the impact around the league a guy with his skills could make on a team like that.

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
Dwight is the guy the Heat should have instead of Bosh. Bosh doesnt do the little things like rebound and block shots, that is what Dwight does. If Lebron were running point, Wade on the wing and Dwight in the post, you couldnt beat that team. But instead they got Bosh so they are soft inside.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
sorry but Dwight isn't leaving Orlando to go play in Oklahoma City. Much like Cleveland, people don't want to go live in Oklahoma City. People forget that these guys do need to live where they play and that does matter to them.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
I think that he will exercise his option and will do the same as Wade ... he will wait and see what the team will do and then he will choose to resign ... I think ORL will exercise Carter option and 2 years from now, when both, Carter and Lewis run their contracts out, they will be in MIA like position to lure the best FAs, includding Howard himself & Paul.Comment

I never said it was a realistic possibility. I'd simply like for it to happen.Comment

Heh yeah sure OKC isn't a big time city, but neither is Orlando really besides a lot of tourism.

FWIW, Kevin Durant doesn't spend much time here in DC. Been that way since he's been in the league.#RespectTheCultureComment

Magic GM Otis Smith says they don't plan on trading Dwight and will take a chance on letting him test FA in 2012:

Anyways, Otis is taking a big risk IMO. I think it's best to play this how Denver did in that if you don't get a committal, you trade him for the best possible offer and actually get something instead of pretty much losing everything.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Also, the difference is that Dwight has not said that he is leaving, unlike Melo. While I think he is a good guy, he is not going to stay jst because of that. However, I think there is a good chance that if he decides to leave, he discreetly lets Otis know before next years deadline so the Magic can make a move.Comment

Re: Could Dwight Be Playing Somewhere Else Next Season?
I am a Magic fan, and I disagree.... with our bad contracts and the way our team is built around him, we are done for awhile if Dwight does not come back. Even if we get good trade value for him, we would only be a low seed playoff team.

My point was it's best to just get good value for him if he can't give a commitment to stay and instead wants to test the market. This way you can acquire draft picks, young players and/or expiring contracts to help the cap flexibility of the team (assuming the next CBA still includes this) and not be stuck in franchise hell like the Cavs and Raptors are currently experiencing.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches.
