Your right. That's a collective effort. BUT I do think the blinking would start at the decertification part. Whenever that comes up, it always raises an eyebrow with owners. Even in the NFL labor dispute. Although the players attempt was fruitless, the owners still had to wonder if the courts was going to rule in favor of the players. Then at that point, the owners was going to have to poney up more money in legal fees to fight the case.

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
Indeed. I think both sides feel that way...
That would allow players to challenge antitrust laws, the commissioner said, an opportunity they don't have with the collective bargaining agreement in place. But, he said, decertification is risky because there are $4 billion in guaranteed player contracts in effect for next season.
"It's a nuclear option," Stern said, "but I'm not sure whether it isn't the nuclear option that falls on the party that launches it."
Billy Hunter, the executive director of the NBA players association, told The New York Times this week that the likelihood of decertifying the union was "pretty far off."

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
This is true. And I think this is why the players would probably explore the overseas option first before the decertifcation option. Decertification is basically the 'nuclear bomb' option. Which was why I was surprised when the NFL lockout happened, this was the players first tactic. BUT it's not a surprise that after three weeks when the courts ruled the NFL lockout legal, the players are close to accepting a deal that was on the table for them back in March.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. So I'm assuming discussing the schedule that was released today would be pointless since those games won't be played anyway, am I correct?#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
I dont think the schedule is worthless becuase its in effect as soon as the season begins if they ever come to an agreement and at whatever point they're at
Right now its only not relevant because there is a lockout at the moment and the NBA is completely shunning anything that has to do with current players, but there is definitely a reason they're signing huge tv contractsComment

The hypocrisy of putting those teams on the Xmas Day schedule when they're crying out in defense of the smaller market teams is just hilarious.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: CBA/Lockout Discussion Thread
It was only a matter of time before they got rid of the 2 pointless games not too many people cared about(12pm and 10:30 Games) and just went the Big Market vs. Big Market aka "Sexy Matchups" instead.
FWIW, 28 teams have at least one game on ESPN or TNT. Anybody wanna take a guess at who are the two that got left out?
Hint: They're owned by 2 of the tallest owners in the League.#RespectTheCultureComment
