The hypocrisy of putting those teams on the Xmas Day schedule when they're crying out in defense of the smaller market teams is just hilarious.

    No doubt about it sir!

This is what I'm talking about. If all you do is market big market teams then that's all people will care about. Then people make comments like x team vs. y team in the finals won't sell. That's because those teams have gotten looked over for a decade now why would anybody want to watch.

Thats the point... its been a point to push only big markets to make these pointless, now you are stuck with the consequences of doing that

Those are 6 good teams that they are putting on Christmas Day though. What small market team is not getting pushed? The NBA pushed the hell out of OKC last season, and I would consider small market.

Well, only four of those teams are legit championship contenders. And the two other teams, the Knicks and Celtics, play each other. Which is why I don't understand that game being on Christmas.

And that's what kills this whole; 'you greedy douchebag players and your ridiciulous contracts are killing the league!!' agenda that's been getting pimped way too hard in every facet of lockout discussion. You can't shovel this mess in players laps alone and then trot out that lineup of 'marquee games' on your big day of baskteball for the world.

Sacto aint attractive enough either but there was a day when Free Agents would've considered that a spot to win

Thats the point being made here.

anyway, LA has been on christmas since who knows how long... I guess thats all the nba is all about though right?

Sacto was on TV maybe 22-23 times in 2002, including Christmas day....Not sure how they were so underexposed....good teams come and go

Regarding LA, they are team most love to watch, whether its with hope that they win or lose....even though im not fan...ill take them over the Indiana Pacers on XMas anyday...

Okay, maybe not those teams. But tell me you wouldn't mind seeing a team like the Grizzlies, Sixers, Blazers, Hawks or Warriors playing on that day. I know I would like to see any of those teams play on Christmas Day if possible. There are other options to consider aside from the obvious big name teams that gets shoehorned into Xmas day time slots year after year.

*shudder* I rather watch paint dry than watch the Hawks play...but thats besides the point lol. (they actually played MIA in 09 though)

the Warriors played the Blazers this past Christmas Day...as well as 09 when they played the Suns....we had a great Spurs/Mavs matchup that year too..

                          08 we had New Orleans...

I honestly think its a good mix...I for one dont want to see XMas day dominated by a heap of mediocre teams. If you can get over the fact LA has been in every XMas game since who knows when, I think we have seen some great matchups..

EDIT: Blazers had games in 08, 09 and 10.

Im talking about right now, not back then... the point was its nothing wrong with showing the rest of your league like they matter

Its at the point now LA doesnt even care to play on christmas and lose every time but they keep shoving them down our throats anyway, pumping up some kind of a fake rivalry that never existed in the first place

last x-mas the Blazers had a game with the Nuggets... I wouldn't call x-mas day a big market vs. big market day, it's more of rivalries or good match-ups... Ofcourse taking into consideration that big market rivalries are money makers

Oh ok, Guess I misunderstood.....I guess we can agree to disagree there...

In the example of the Kings, they had players coming out saying they didnt even have gameplans going into games, lol

The King games I did watch (there were some on NBA TV, who actually does a good job of showcasing smaller market teams) the players were literally fighting with each other all game...

I dont blame anyone for not wanting to televise that, these teams are usually where they are for a reason...
