Impressive. I understand liking a guy, but at least call a spade a spade.
First: "However, Bill Branch, the Hornets' head scout at the time, said that the Hornets agreed to trade their draft selection to the Lakers before picking Bryant. The teams agreed to the trade the day before the draft and the Lakers did not tell the Hornets who to select until five minutes before the pick was made.[23] Branch said that prior to the trade agreement, the Hornets never even considered drafting Bryant."
So basically the Lakers drafted him. they just used the Hornet's pick.

2nd bynum's impact was on D, rebounding and depth. He wasn't going to play a lot of minutes since he was really the back up center.

i read an article on yahoo that dan gilbert called for the trade to get dealt and other owners. I mean i dont like lebron that much, but i understand why he left so harsh. Dan Gilbert is a deuche ( if i spelled that right). He want the big markets to not get anything ugh

How can't you? Did you not watch the Lakers trade for Kobe like everyone else did? They gave up something to get him, that's not drafting, regardless of how it went down.

Your overvalue of Bynum might be more absurd.

So drafting a player is calling his name, not scouting and deciding to bring that player into your team as a rookie? Ok.

Telling someone to draft a player for you because he will be gone before he gets there is not drafting but you act like he was the Hornet's and the Lakers stole him or just traded for him out of nowhere.

I'm not overvaluing him, I just think your undervaluing him.

Pretty sure every team scouts players in the draft, doesn't mean they actually select him. The Hornets picked him, and the Lakers gave up Divac for him. That's what the NBA likes to call a trade.

If the Hornets were not willing to take Divac, then Kobe would not have been in a Lakers uniform, because the Hornets selected him, not the Lakers.

Regardless, this isn't the forum for that argument.

The only way he can NIX a deal is if he wasn't going to sign off on an extension in some type of form even if it's only verbal. Why would he show up to a camp where he wasn't signing an extension if the other side was under the notion he would? There's no specific information on what was being said one way or the other. Yeah, we heard they would be "willing" to rent CP3, but was that the deal that was lined up?

Someone source me saying the Celtics deal that was discussed, in this particular instance, didn't involve CP3 in some way, shape, or form nodding to the fact he would extend.
Not to be THAT guy, but when I asked you for a source about how you said Duhwight wouldn't go to NJ or even sign there, you never brought one up or any proof that HE did say that.

He was Eli Manning before Eli Manning at that time LOL.

Read that email by Dan...he needs to shut up. Someone is still bitter Lebron dumped him on national television after years of catering to him. I don't feel sorry for Dan, he (and or the GM) never gave Lebron a good teammate (besides Varejao) to work with.
I understand the money part and not wanting to pay all of that but not wanting the Lakers to get CP3 and potentially Howard? That is so petty and selfish. He'd be pissed if the league stopped him from getting Howard, CP3, and lets say Carmelo. Don't do to one owner what you would not want done to yourself.

Alright, the Lakers didn't draft Kobe and the Charlotte never intended to trade for Divac. It just popped up spur of the moment.

Exactly what I'm saying. Once again in bold this time: the Hornets had NO INTENTION of drafting Kobe, they only did it to give him to LA for Divac.

Marc Gasol is hardly a scrap (oh another good draftee by the Laker. How funny is that, 3 of the Lakers starting 5 were DRAFTED by the Lakers!)

marc gasol was an unknown player and hadn't played a single game in the NBA before that trade. Your not fooling anyone. He wasn't even a lottery pick.
