    Umm, Marcus Camby?

      No

Athletically gifted yes but doesn't know how to play bball yet. He's still young so I can't write him off but if you've seen Drummond play you'll notice the same things. As a Wizards fan I was intrigued early on but having put up with Javale's BS for a 3 years I'm not sure any Wiz fans want another big man project. Drummond is much more physical though.

Yeah, Drummond will be a huge project. All of the stuff from UConn blogs/boards etc that I follow have said that most NBA front offices have told Calhoun to advise Drummond to return for his sophomore year.

I think people confuse skinny with weak. Camby, Garnett, Howard, etc may have been slender, but they weren't frail.

                Re: 2012 NBA Draft Discussion

                From DraftExpress:

Kevin Garnett 6'11 220 lbs out of high school
Marcus Camby 6'11 220 lbs out of UMASS

And Anthony Davis is 6'10(may be 6'11) 220 lbs

Whether he lives up to expectations or not won't be because of his frame.

That doesn't make it accurate. And even if it is that doesn't mean they have the same build. I agree I don't think his frame alone will be why he fails to meet expectations. However I believe it'll play a major role.

We can't say he messed him up because we only have hs footage to get an idea of what he could've been, but MJ definitely derailed him.

Jordan was the GM at the time but what other owner do you know can come out of the office, step on the court and be better than 90% of the team? Or who's presence can make a 19 year old kid nervous because he's the greatest player of all time? Or can **** on your game so bad you believe him and lose confidence (due to the first two examples)?

Yep. I remember the whole Durant can't even bench 200lbs topic. He seems to be doing just fine.

Yeah, a bit different when we're discussing a post player.

Do you guys see Davis as a franchise changer though? That's my thing, I honestly don't know if I see any of those players in this class... but I do see a lot of big names and starters...

                            A. Drummond is expected to declare.. I can't say I was impressed with this guy after all the hype he got coming into the season.

He didn't but people were saying before that he wouldn't have any kind of post game because he won't be able to back down or post anyone up because he's too frail, yet he doesn't have any issues in that regard.

Another poster brought up Marcus Camby and KG, two other players who didn't even have the same build as Duhwight had when he came into the league and both of those guys didn't exactly bulk up over their careers in which one is a potential HOFer and the other was one of the best rebounders/defenders at his position in this decade.

Davis' frame won't be the issue why he struggles in the NBA.

Franchise changer like a Lebron or Shaq was? Tough to say at this point but I do believe that he'll be an impact player right away because he already does two things GREAT that you need to do as a big man to last in the league and that's defend and rebound.

All I know is I'd love to get him on the Nets to team him up with Lopez and hopefully Deron stays as well because that'll do wonders for Davis' career, in having him play with a proven and one of the best PGs in the game.
