Re: ****2012 NBA FINALS DISCUSSION THREAD****

I think it's going to be really hard to pick out players flopping. Especially natural of the call. But I'm not going to get into that stuff.

Tonight game is huge. For both sides. The Thunder are in most win mode right now. And the Heat are basically in the same position they were in last year. 2 wins away from winning the championship.

I think Scott Brooks needs to look into changing his starting line up to match up better with the Heats line up. They have come out flat in the first 3 games (maybe expect game 3). I also can't believe the Heat have been getting away with Battier playing 4 and 5 positions for this long.

What I would like to see is LeBron stepping on their throats tonight. I mean all out aggressiveness from the jump. I wanna see something similar to the Boston Game 6 performance.

NBA wouldn't want this to be 3-1 headed to game 5.

I expect to see a lot of bad calls going against Miami tonight. Is Miami going to play well enough, or the Thunder bad enough to where they cannot capitalize? We'll see.

It will be interesting to see how many pages of complaining about officials we get if this is true, lol

Either way, I got OKC winning tonight....its their desperation vs MIAs killer instinct, which they haven't shown much of this postseason...

That would be a really nice game 4 for LeBron. But I know him pretty well. He doesn't play well at home for some odd reason. He really never goes or gets that hot when playing at home. His whole career has been like that. He seems to play better when he zones out on the road. When he gets involved in the crowd and all that. That's when his focus seems to all over the place.

I'm actually expecting the Thunder to win tonight. It's all about the pace of the game in my opinion. If the scores are above 95 points. Expect the Thunder to win those kind of games. But when the score is under that. Which is more of the Heat type of game.

if your saying durant is better than westbrook in any of theses individual aspects of basketball i disagree.

well idk about shot blocking really, as i barely see either of them blocking shots, so ill leave that open. but as far as they other 2, i disagree.

                - as far as the game tonight i think the thunder pull it out because i think as they will play with the greater since of urgency

It was more about the "pages of complaining about the officials" part because those posts are going to come regardless of what OSU thinks will happen or not, which was my point.

As for any ref would call that, I just wish they would call fouls when people get hammered in the head, like Miami has gotten away with a few times in this series and in previous rounds. I'm not saying that's the reason they're up 2-1, but the advantageous whistle they get is undeniable. When 2 teams are pretty evenly matched, that can be hard to overcome, both on the scoreboard and mentally.
There isn't anyone on earth with enough body control to change directions abruptly in midair. Like I said, it may have been an optical illusion but it sure looked like he shifted to the left in midair, which would be the direction he would shift if Harden slightly nudged him. And it doesn't matter if he shoved him in the stands or slightly touched him, if the guy is already in the air it doesn't take much... and if it effects the shot (appears to have pushed him under the backboard) then every ref would call that.

The problem with the rest is the common issue many have with trying to compare what they think are the same situation. No two situations are exactly the same. Right now you're comparing a call that should've been made but the ref simply didn't see to one that was made. There's no way to make a comparison like that and people do it all the time. It's not like the ref saw both clearly and decided Wade's was a foul but Rondo's wasn't.

Hope OKC spent plenty of time yesterday shooting free throws and remembering when it's appropriate to box out again since those were 2 of the main issues that hurt them on Sunday.

Closing out on three point shooters without running into them would also be of big help.

There is a big difference between 8 rebounds and 4.6 rebounds per game. Durant is the better rebounder. Yeah, his size is obviously a big reason why, but he is still the better rebounder.

Defensively, the are within .5 steals per game of each other. Durant blocks almost one shot per game more. But excluding that, per 100 possessions Durant allowed 101 point this year, Westbrook allowed 105. Westbrook's number jumps to 107 in the playoffs. Also if you look at defensive win shares, Westbrook had 2.4 and Durant 3.7. Obviously you are entitled to your own opinion, but the stats say Durant is better defensively than Westbrook.

What is a since of urgency? Also, is it so difficult to push shift while typing the first letter of a sentence or proper noun?

PS- I'm just teasing you. I'm not really trying to upset or insult you.

not really but if i had know you would be grading my post i would taken it into further consideration. i meant sense not since. also in case you take notice to it i also from time to time type in ebonics. no hard feeling taking everyone has their tolerance of grammar, i understand.

to your other point im not really into stats the way you seem to be, there are so many things that take place on the court that just looking at stats cannot accurately represent especially defensively. i just go off of what my eyes tell me in the games that i watch and i pretty much watch every nba game that come on cable tv...espn, tnt, abc, etc. so thats what i base my opinions on the eyeball test tho i do understand that some folks are heavy into stats.

my main point was that i dislike how the media has treated westbrook in the finals. i think they have an agenda and a storyline to sell and he doesnt seem to be apart of it, so they are trying to put him in his place. that was my point
