Let's operate under the assumption that he didn't have a no trade clause. Would he be traded then (because he's still playing pretty well for his age and limited minutes)? Would you advocate for him to be traded?
Or would you rather him to be a lifetime Spur?
What about Parker? Would you advocate for him to be traded?
On a different note, this is why I don't get why the Boston fans here are advocating for Pierce to get traded. After everything he's done? When he was the only hope spot during the terrible years of Celtic rebuilding? Or did you only become a fan of the team after the Big Three was assembled?
Why get mad at Ray Allen for going to the Heat and not willing to show "loyalty" when in the same season Rondo gets hurt you're willing to throw Paul Pierce under the bus and want him immediately traded? For what? Nothing? The **** does this accomplish in the long term? The man is still averaging 19, 6, and 4. He's playing better than who a lot of people are supposing to replace him (Rudy Gay).
And you're willing to trash him for NOTHING (This is a ****ty draft coming up)?
I'm going to laugh when Rondo leaves if you guys do trade Pierce (Rondo only has 3 years on his contract left, pretty much 1 and a half now because of the injury). I'm going to laugh long and hard.
Its not that serious man.NBA 2k13 project:

Don't matter when you said it, you said it. You even said they don't need to go into this season with this team competing and winning and fooling them into thinking they had a chance to win and losing in the playoffs anyway. Basically them doing exactly what they're doing. No need to throw in the 'nice try' line, I'm not being confrontational with you about it. Just saying, kinda hard for you make that point to C's fans and you don't follow it with your own team.
EDIT: You said it end of November by the way. Wee bit off the mark of 'before the season even started.'SpoilerYes I said it before the season started, and at the end of the November, we we're 6-7 against a pretty weak schedule and looked anemic on offense. Guess I should have looked at that and known what lied ahead.
Either way, I still don't see the correlation. The situations are totally different.
Our core that would be worth keeping was still young and the pieces we could have moved would have produced a quick turn around back to the top of east, and the Celtics probably don't have another run left after this with a core on their last legs and the pieces they do have aren't going to yield good enough talent to immediately become a contender again.
So if you want to try and find some parallel between the two statements and call me out, that's fine, but the two statements are in no way directly related, nor hypocritical.
ANYwayyy,
Raptors actively pursuing Rudy Gay. This might be old news, because I think they have shown interest a few times before this, but rumors are they are looking for Arthur to include with Gay as well.
Raptors currently would send Calderon, Ed Davis and probably someone else.
Obviously, from a Memphis standpoint, not that great of deal, and seems like purely a cap space move, but from a Toronto standpoint, they would get their most exciting wing player since Vince and with other young solid pieces around them. Might be too little too late this season but moving forward a core of Lowry/Gay/Derozan/Bargs/JV is definitely something to work with.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

^ I just wish the Raptors would trade Bargnani already. Preferably in a package for Pau Gasol, but I doubt that's going to happen.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

I'm not an avid Raptors follower by any means and I know Bargs has been hurt a little this year, but I don't see him fitting in the long term plans in Toronto.
While I still think Gasol is the best all around player the Lakers have, I think that would end up being a good move in terms of freeing up cap space, but also getting a guy in return that is a bigger threat from the perimeter at the 4 than Gasol is. That is if the Lakers are really all in with D'Antoni moving forward.
Who else would Toronto include that the Lakers could have interest in? Definitely don't think they want to part with Lowry. Maybe Johnson?Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Yeah, I think at this point, that would be a deal worth making.

I know the Lakers have reportedly already turned down a Raptors trade offer for Gasol a few months back but you have to think that eventually they're going to part ways with Gasol with that situation not getting much better. I guess Dwight is also a possibility to be traded, but I just don't see them doing that.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. But Calderon is rumored to be in the Gay deal as well as Ed Davis.
So they can only go with one deal IMO, just because the pieces aren't there. Unless they go with low cost volume to Memphis and include a pick, then leave Calderon and another piece for the Lakers.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

I really don't think Memphis is going to trade him anyways. That is unless they get a really great offer from someone. I also don't think Memphis should trade him either. Let that core have another run this year and see what happens. I know on paper everyone is going to pencil in the Clippers and Thunder over them but you never know what could happen.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
Guess I should have said, I was including the assumption that the Raps would go for both.
I think right now, in terms of actual pieces moved, I think the Raps might be able to get Gasol at a cheaper price than Gay. Mainly because of one, his age, and the strain the Laker/Gasol relationship has endured this season. And the Lakers desperate need for shooters.
Memphis is in a precarious situation. They have the pieces to make a run, and on paper, to seriously compete for a championship as constructed, with top tier front court play, and great team defense but for some reason they can't get over the hump.
Don't know if it falls directly on Gay not being as great of a perimeter scorer as they need, or Conley not being dynamic enough. I don't know, it's tough to call with them.Last edited by JODYE; 01-29-2013, 12:27 PM.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Think this revelation will effect the Lakers decision to make a move with him involved?

They need to get rid of MDA honestly. You have 2 of the best post scorers in the NBA and you bench Pau to go small so you can run with an old team LOL. Why did LA hire this man with his failure in New York?NBA 2k13 project:
