This trade is a win win. Memphis really isnt losing that much with this trade. This is going to simplify things for them just like Gays injury did a few years ago.
Prince isnt what he was a couple years ago, but hes better suited to the role Memphis needs from the 3 than Rudy was. Theyre better defensively simply because Prince is at worst average and Rudy was at best subpar.
Offensively its all about how much you believe in Randolph. If hes capable of playing nearly the same he did in that run a couple years ago theyre set. Gasol is amazing and Conley is one of the more underrated players in the league. Hes a borderline top 5 pg, theres nothing he does poorly.
Davis is a great piece for the future.
I dont see what theyre losing that they cant replace with contributions from elsewhere.
At worst I see this being a small loss if Prince is completely washed up, which won't really be answered until he has to play in the playoffs. I personally think hes going to do well, though its admittedly hard to tell with these type of players (I thought battier wasnt much of a pick-up for Miami last year).
Memphis just got better!?
I certainly don't think so

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
He has a very balanced game, doesn't turn the ball over, and you can't completely sag off him either because he shoots the 3 at a very efficient clip (at 38%).
He's also a very good defender, often being right behind Rondo in terms of steals (been averaging 2.0 a game for the past 3 years).
He's really the PG you want when you have dominant big men and they need their touches to work in the paint (which work for this team/ and was working for Gay).Comment

The contract he's playing out now was given to him to keep him from leaving via free agency. You looking at the Chair MAN!

Ed Davis will be a better player than Rudy Gay in a year anyway.
ZBo is getting older and Davis will be the perfect backup.
Raptors are stockpiling wings for something, I guess. Glad to see Lowery left alone now.
A few years from now, this'll look more win win than anything else.

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
Don't get some of the negativity towards Raptors in this deal.
Sure, this season is basically lost, but all it takes is a single offseason to completely turn a team around. And Raptors surprisingly, aren't even that far away from doing that.
They have a starting PG,SG and SF. They have ok bench depth, but if they are able to get a starting big man, that'll change alot(cause then a person in running for starting big man position before, will now be on bench, so that adds to bench depth as well).
If the Bargnani-Gasol deal gets done, then that'll make things completely different for Raptors team. It's just a matter of how the Raptors are able to free up space on their team. If Bargnani,Fields and Kleiza are gone, there'll be lots of room to work with in offseason. Who knows, maybe it'll take those 3 guys to get Gasol(Bargnani,Fields,Kleiza is 20M in salary,Gasol is 19M, so it's possible...)

As far as Conley, aside from Chris Paul and maybe Westbrook/Rose, who would you rather have for this team?
He does literally everything well, and defends at a high level. He doesnt have any holes in his game, hes playoff proven, and hes top notch defensively in a league full of great PGs. What more could you want?Comment

Many many fans here in Memphis (Including myself) Are thrilled that damn ball stopper is finally gone.
Its gonna be weird to see our best players be the focal point of the offense for once.Comment

With that said, Gay's abilities would have certainly helped them in the playoffs when the game's tight and there's few seconds left on the clock. The only thing I would ask is: did you really have to trade him before the season ended?Comment
