"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

There had been rumors that the Celtics were interested in Gortat and the Suns wanted Bradley in return. I think the Celtics were only willing to give up Courtney Lee, though.Originally posted by billmaticRadman is more like the ******** homeless man's version of Okur.Comment

Is that even asking too much for Gortat or is that a fair trade in Phoenix's perspective?Comment

Re: Chris Broussards Sources tell me Trade Rumors and Discussion Thread
What's the deal with Courtney Lee? Why can't he seem to stick anywhere? Seems to be a solid rotation player, fills needs with shooting and defense, is athletic, doesn't seem like a knucklehead. That contract isn't bad, there are worse players making much more. I don't get it, am I missing something?Comment

Bradley's not going anywhere nor should he.
And those Courtney Lee rumors were a while ago when he was playing awful, he's played great lately thus haven't heard much rumors since.Wolverines Packers Cubs Celtics

Saw this article about Brooklyn going after Josh Smith..
The Brooklyn Nets are aggressively pursuing a trade for Atlanta Hawks star forward Josh Smith, league sources told ESPN.
This cracks me up:
Some scenarios that have been discussed include the Hawks' Anthony Morrow, who played the past two seasons with the Nets, returning to the club.
Also, why one earth would they want to shop Brooks?Celtics Bruins Sox Eagles Liverpool

God I hope the Bargnani trade goes down, don't really get it for Toronto though, but I suppose they would have a chance at an 8 seed next year and just get the city behind the team again.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

I'm guessing your from Chicago and your a Bulls fan. May I ask why you'd want a swap of Bargnani for Boozer ? (I'm not mocking you or anything....I want a Bulls fan point of view on this.)Comment

I wrote a whole bunch about it a few pages back.
Basically it boils down to just getting rid of Boozers contract.GT: Event Horizon 0Comment

Again, all for trading Boozer, but not for this deal.Comment

*Plays worse defense than Boozer. Ball stopper in the half court. Below average passer and rebounder.
If it was about "just getting rid of Boozer's contract" then we would just amnesty him and cut the losses.
Trading for Bargs locks us in to that 12 million instead of allowing us to shed 17 in 2014. This also pretty much makes it a foregone conclusion that Deng will be retained under Bird Rights, because the flexibility we would have had to amnesty Boozer and make a big splash in FA will have been severely hampered. (Whether we sign anyone is another story, but we won't know with Bargs on the roster)
Trade makes no sense for Chicago. Especially given the current situation of this team and the fact we've played all year without our best player. Our best basketball with this roster is still ahead of us.Cubs | Bulls | Dolphins | 'Noles

Oh..ok. Your just looking for a salary dump. If the Raps were in striking range of the 8th seed. I could see this deal some what making sense.....but I just don't see it at this point in time.Comment
