I think Smart's stock isn't as high because people aren't sure what position he plays in the NBA. Doesn't really look like he has the PG skills to play that position at the next level, and he's just a solid prospect if he's a SG IMO.

And I don't think Parker has the potential to be a great 2-way player. He can be a very good offensive player, but I think you're looking at an average at best defender. He can only improve his quickness so much.

Why do you guys keep getting this PF position thing with Parkers? Duke is playing small.

I'm just not sure he's quick enough to defend SFs or beat SFs to the hoop. He gets beaten by average college athletes. I can't imagine him being able to keep many NBA SFs in front of him.

But again, we should get a better idea about it as the season goes on. Even if he's playing PF and sometimes C for Duke, he gets switched out onto SFs here and there. But the results have been pretty bad so far.

There is no way Parker is big enough to handle NBA power forwards. No way.

He'll be fine with the 3, just like Paul Pierce was.

Now where I disagreed with Wiggins is that I don't buy that Wiggins is as good defensively as Parker is offensively. That's saying so much.

agreed.. parker already resembles a very VERY good offensive player, wiggins resembles a lance stephenson like defense...its somewhere between above average and good

Embiid's stats are very comparable to Lamarcus Aldridge's in college. I wonder if he could become a better defensive player than Aldridge, but without the face up jumper.

i think he already is very very close if not better than Aldridge on defense..he shows the potential to be a multi time DPOY if he fully develops

Hard to find a good NBA player comparison with him. Maybe 2010 Andrew Bynum without the injury problems.

draft.net had him compared to bynum but he blows him out of the water athletically, and bynum even with all his injuries had legit post skills

like i said, right now he reminds me of javale mcgee without the mental lapses and semblances of an offensive game outside of dunks

I dont know what Kansas games you've been watching but Joel Embiid's offensive game involves a lot more than just dunking. He has a terrifically advanced low post game, has tremendous form on his jumper and has already knocked down a couple of mid range jumpers. Tbh the only thing that compares to McGee is his very low bball iq.
Anthony Davis - a future MVP.

I watched him lock down my Hoyas best player this weekend defending an offense that requires a lot of discipline at times. He has athleticism, length, good instincts on D, and the most important thing - desire. Now offensively, man he has a long way to go.

Embiid is a unique player. Not so much skill wise but in the sense that he looks like he has been playing longer than he has mixed in with the fact you know he hasn't so you know he has room to go. I saw him knock down a 16 foot baseline J with no hesitation Saturday and his form looks pretty solid for a young big. I was very hesitant on him early but he's looked better each time I've seen him.

I think scouts' eyes are shifting when they're watching KU.

I agree but he's not as athletic as McGee.
