Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Because we already know that no other team will do that especially considering only 4 Coaches in the league have full control and 3 of them were just granted that in the last 2 months.
This dude Kidd thinks he slick LOL#RespectTheCultureComment

Good for Jason Kidd. Hopefully he goes to the Bucks, turns the franchise around, and attracts free agents there.Comment

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Obviously you were joking anyways, but players can't be traded in a deal for Kidd. It can only be picks and cash. I pray to god that Milwaukee isn't dumb enough to include any 1st round picks. I'd hope like hell they include a small amount of cash and at the very most a 2nd round draft pick.
If they give up a 1st round pick, all of the excitement around the Bucks offseason will quickly turn into nothing but depression, and what fans are left will riot.NFL: Bills

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
TC should have a bounce back year in Dallas.....
The Mavs defensive scheme hasn't changed since he left they still switch everything on the perimeter trying to funnel the ball inside towards a big.
That is where TC is great with help defense....Him and Dirk had great chemistry during that title season.
It's also not a forgone conclusion that Felton starts at PG with D.Harris likely to return. Carlisle has his ways of getting players to perform and buy into the program so Felton will have every opportunity to challenge Harris but if he doesn't get with the program he could find himself not only playing behind Harris but Ellis would eat up minutes at PG.
If I'm the Mavs and I wanted to build a similar team to the 2011 title team I would target Ariza at SF and S.Livingston at PG.
I think Ariza gives you that length and defensive versatility on the perimeter very similar to Marion and Livingston gives you that big PG you can switch defensively onto bigger wing player much like Kidd while Ellis defends the lesser backcourt threat similar to how they utilized Terry.
I know Cuban is going to go for the home run signing (Melo/LBJ) but I think the Mavs have a better shot of signing two solid starters with that money and some more bench depth (backup C/PF).
Would love to see them go into next year with this lineup/rotation
PG-Livingston/Harris/Felton
SG-Ellis/Carter/Ricky Ledo
SF-Ariza/Crowder
PF-Dirk/Wright
C-Chandler/E.Okaor (If healthy would be a solid backup for TC)

Can you put protections on a compensation pick?
If they give up an unprotected first for Kidd than wow....Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Personally, I expect that Milwaukee would, at the most, give up cash and a 2nd round pick, but nobody really knows at this point, and if it's a first round pick, regardless of protection, I will probably cry myself to sleep.NFL: Bills

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
forget the compensation, the bucks would be insane to put kidd as a coach or front office personnel.
possibly turning the team around with giannis and jabari in back to back drafts, then this.. not sure who wants to be perma lottery more out of them or the sixers

Kidd wanted to make personnel decisions in addition coach duties, Nets said no and don't want him around anymore. Bucks are interested in hiring him now that the Nets have declared him available.Fan of:

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Oh thank god. I can live with giving up a couple 2nd round picks even if it seems like common sense that we can just wait a week for them to fire him and get him for free.

Realistic compensation for Bucks to deliver Nets: "Bunch of second-round picks," one source says. No doubt Nets pursuing a first-rounder.NFL: Bills
