They are going to be very good team in general. Not contending just yet, but in the East, I think they can find themselves fighting for that #6 spot. But that's only if it all comes together. They're young, Ben Gordon and Channing will help, I still think they're maybe one move away.

Frye is a solid player, but you know it's the NBA offseason when guys left and right are getting overpaid badly.

I like what I'm seeing in Payton and Dipo as a backcourt. If Gordon can develop a reliable jumpshot then this can be a very fun team to watch.

The Frye signing is good for them. Not a Ben Gordon fan at all. But Frye should be a great mentor for Nicholson.

Isn't the minimum for a vet that's been in the league a certain amount of years like $5 mil or something close to that?

Thought I read that on another forum when comparing the minimum salaries for each major sport.

I'm pretty sure the vet minimum is like 1.5 mil or so.

If Bosh comes back I respect the loyalty, but he'd be crazy to turn down the Rockets offer. That is a perfect fit for him and playing with a young team. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with wanting to play with the best player in the world, but I don't know how many more years of serious contention they have with Wade unless he takes a big paycut.

I originally liked it too, but Payton looks rough in the summer league. He doesn't really look like he handles ball pressure well at all, and his vision isn't great. Constantly missing cutters and late passing to guys coming off screens.. He doesn't look bad, just kinda far from a starting point guard immediately.

Frye is a good fit in Orlando. They need someone like him if Gordon is playing the 3.

That is a massive overpay though.

So with Granger signing for the bi annual exception at $4.2 million and Mcbob committing to the full mid level exception, does this affect our projected $55 million available cap space or does it use something else? Not really sure how these exceptions work entirely

So a radio host here was joking, though I think he may have been a little serious in his speculating too. I don't think this is the case at all. But given how things are playing out right now it makes a little sense, but we'll see what happens.

What if the Heat want Bosh to think LeBron may actually be going to Cleveland and thinking he's going to get stuck holding the bag in Miami without LeBron there so he's out of the loop and decides to take the money in Houston. Like, Riley doesn't want to tell Bosh they don't want him back since he helped them get 2 rings, so they want him to leave on his own to Houston and then Melo can take his place and sign on with Bron in South Beach after they push Bosh out this way?

When did he officially say he was making a decision? I believe reports we putting that on him. I don't see Melo making a decision until this weekend.
