I think going for love is a risk in general because we don't know what this team will do. Even with lebron there we don't know if this team will turn out to be as great as we all might think. There could be all kinds of chemistry issues, we don't know who else cleveland will sign to help themselves out, and we don't know how guys like wiggins and waiters will turn out with lebron there. I think theres too many unknowns to go full steam ahead at picking up love right now, especially cuz his contract is too big for things to be a potential failure. If things turn out Then i would expect cleveland to do everything within there power to get love, only if its at a fair price. Oh plus theres the fact that love doesn't give this team anything it needs.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
How about look at it from Minny's perspective.. They aren't winning with Kevin Love. If they weren't being stingy and would have just taken a Waiters/Bennett trade they would have found 2 new starters, a new leading scorer (shown capable of 20ppg), and lots of cap flexibility..
Say they dumped Martin somewhere, dumped Pekovic, or even kept him it doesn't matter.. And used their flexibility to throw the max at Parsons.. Maybe sign and trade Martin for Hayward, etc..
They have LOADS of potential TONS of youth, and have successfully started a rebuild without having to tank to the bottom.
A line up with Rubio/Waiters/Parsons/Bennett/Pekovic could probably win more games than the team they currently have, and has much more potential than any of the current trades they are currently working with.

I don't think Minnesota throwing the max at Chandler Parsons is gonna change much, I mean he already signed in Dallas.

lol yes I know. It was a "what if".. If they hadn't been so stingy trying to trade him in the first place.

Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
My point is that the talk about Love has jumped so far to the other direction just for people to try and make their points. Like the line about him going to the Cavs and suddenly becoming a 17 & 7 player. What? Where is this crystal ball at?
I don't disagree with a lot of what's been said, and keep in mind I'm on the side that thinks the Cavs shouldn't be putting all their chips in for Love, but the fact is they would be adding one of the best 20 players in the league. From the sounds of some of these arguments though, he's just another guy, which isn't the case at all.Last edited by BlueNGold; 07-23-2014, 07:33 PM.Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Re: 2014 Off-Season Thread
Idk how interested Cleveland would be since they only seems to be interested in Love, but what if Cleveland/GS/Minnesota did a 3 team trade:
GS: Klay, Lee, Barnes
Min: Love, Martin
Clev: Waiters, 1st
GS: gets Love and Waiters
Min: gets Lee, Klay, 1st
Clev: gets Martin, Barnes
GS gets the player they want and a Klay replacement, Minnesota gets the guy they want along with a first, Cleveland adds more depth and can start Wiggins without the Wiggins/Waiters starting debate.

Perhaps but they already said they want to start Wiggins at the SG spot.. So Martin and Barnes are rotation pieces.
Not really a great move but Martin would at least be alright with coming off the bench. Idk if Waiters would, he didn't even like being a 2nd option, much less a 6th man.

But nobody is bashing or questioning Love or his individual abilities.
