Just adds more depth, and Jameer is probably going to be a starter for them..

But I think most peoples comments are referring to their offseason in general.

Out: Calderon, Carter, Marion, Blair, James, Dalembert

In: Felton, Nelson, Parsons, Jefferson, Aminu, Chandler

It's a pretty solid upgrade. More defense, more shooting, more youth.

I like what Dallas has done too, but I'm not as high on them as some of you are. I definitely wouldn't call them stacked either but hey that's just me.
Aren't they still a little thin on front court depth?

        PG: Nelson/Harris/Felton/Mekel
        SG: Ellis/Ledo
        SF: Parsons/Crowder/Aminu/Jefferson
        PF: Dirk/Wright
        C: Chandler/Smith

Last roster spot is likely to either be Eric Griffin, a 6'8" forward the Mavs had on their Summer League, or Bernard James, who could add some depth on the frontline. The Mavs could also try to trade Mekel away to sign both of them or try to bring on someone like Okafor or Jermaine O'Neal. Still, that's a pretty damn solid roster with some nice depth, which is why people are buzzing about those pickups for the Mavs.
        NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
        NBA: Dallas Mavericks

Yeah I wasn't saying biggest in terms of size of the player. But I get what you're saying. What I meant were players who individually gave him the most trouble, or the closest thing to a consistent "rival".. Like a Bill or Willis to Wilt.

Edit: Could probably add Dwight to my previous two, but Shaq was pretty much headed down hill by the time Dwight was effective enough to matter head to head.

Man I'm with you on everything but the more youth thing OJ lol. Everybody they added except Parsons and Aminu are over 30 years old. So it's not like they exactly went with a youth movement as that line would suggest. Upgrade though I think as well

They are but Parsons is much younger than everyone they moved out and is headed into his prime years soon. I think he extends Dirk's career some.

I didn't mean they were all younger, but Parsons is 12 years younger than Vince and Aminu is 13 years younger than Marion. The rest of the guys pretty much cancel out.

He's definitely the biggest loss this offseason, but I'm not too worried about losing him. Will miss him and Marion though

Parsons is older than Blair by a few months, Shane Larkin also. But I get the gist of what you meant. Didn't mean to get too hung up on the age stuff because they did upgrade in the end I think. Just didn't think going with getting more youth was a fitting description because they only brought in two guys that were actually young.

I was hoping the Celtics would take him last year. He's a great talent.

Yeah VC was great for the mavs but you know it may have been the right time to part with him.

This guy is already starting his nonsense. Who the hell does he think he's bull****ting?? LOL.

Carmelo Anthony said it was not the money, but instead his confidence in Phil Jackson and his belief that the Knicks "aren't that far away from contending for an NBA title" why he opted to remain in New York instead of signing with the Chicago Bulls.

Lol do you want the guy to just come out and say "yup fans I mainly stayed for the money, winnings not that big of a deal to me." No player in his right mind would say he cares mainly about something other than winning? Just like Kobe says he cares about winning, if Kobe mainly cared about winning his *** wouldn't be bringing in 20 mil this year. The guy is just trying to make NY fans optimistic bc this upcoming season is already a wash for NY knick fans as I can see. Their best shot is a first round exit IMO
