    Not surprised.

I really can't root for that team to win anything but I'am happy for him and happy that I get to see him play for another season.

      Y'all spoke too soon

Amid continued rumors and having spoken with Ray today, let me be very clear… (cont. 1/2)

      — TANDEM (@_tandemse) October 7, 2014

Ray’s position has not changed. Ray has not decided if he will play this season nor has he signed w/ the @Cavs (2/2)

Ray ain't slick. That ninja trying to get his Brett Farve on. He doesn't wanna be bothered with going through preseason/training camp but he wants to come back for one more ring.

He's probably earned that though, or should I say is one of the guys you'd never worry about missing camp since he's a workout/diet freak. He wouldn't show up to practice in late October all out of shape just hoping for one last pay check.

Pacers and HC Frank Vogel agree to a new multi year extension as he was entering a contract year for the upcoming season. He has a record of 147-82 in his 3 full seasons as HC.

Not saying he would. But I think that's what's going on at this point. Hell Favre wasn't going to be showing up out of shape either, but he didn't want to be bothered with going to camp.

Personally not really a huge deal, but I don't think you ever "earn" the right to skip out on training camp because it isn't exclusively about getting into shape. It's about building chemistry with your teammates, building those relationships, etc.

You don't necessarily need training camp to build that though, especially since the season is so long anyway.

True, but I still think those training camp interactions go a long way.

I don't think it's the case here but sometimes it's not about "you" but what other players can learn from you, learn how to play with you, etc. It can help the coaches start building rotations and situations. It can help GMs evaluate any potential needs, etc. PPM, it's a long season but every second you can possibly get a leg up can help.

But again, I don't think that matters in this case. He's a free agent so he has "earned" the right to chill as long as he wants. If it's someone who teams will pass on if he doesn't sign right away, then bad decision by that player. But we all know Ray can probably pick wherever he wants to play, whenever he wants to make a decision.

Honestly if I'm the Pacers I think I would have waited another year to give him another contract. The Pacers have been impressive and they've done good things under him but I don't know if he's the right kind of coach for those players. Indiana is loaded with talent but they aren't necessarily loaded with guys that are incredibly motivated (looking at Hibbert here). Vogel, to me, is the perfect coach for a team that already has defined leadership roles and a more veteran squad, he's not a big motivator, he's not a disciplinarian kind of guy and I think that hurt them down the stretch last year.

He's pretty much grown up with that team from when they got rid of O'Brien and this is when they weren't loaded with talent at the time either. He's gotten better as a Coach just like some of those players he coached have gotten better under him.

As for him not being a big motivator or saying he's not a disciplinarian kind of guy...curious as to how you came to that conclusion based on what he's done over the last 3 years.

Never said it didn't, but let's not act like it's hurting anybody in the situation IE the Cavs or Ray just because he's not signed right away because it's not, especially for someone like Ray because for the most part you already know what situations you're going to use him for anyway.

Far from a huge deal but I wouldn't completely brush it off if only because of the roster spot. But yeah, there's no reason to look at this from anyone's perspective but Ray's and he has every right to chill at home with his feet up and a cuban in his mouth while everyone else sweats it out.

Oh, good morning. RT @SpearsNBAYahoo: Kevin Durant has a fracture in his right foot that requires surgery and expected to be out 6-8 weeks.
