I honestly feel that the talent level is way higher in the league now and there would be more players who'd be able to contain MJ better now. I still think he'd be a great player, but not to the caliber that he was.

i actually agree, but kind of disagree at the same time..

how hard of a superstar favoring would he get? i think that plays a huge factor because its going to determine if hes shooting 40% or 50%. Hes going to get hit, and hit alot but if hes not getting 8+ FTA a game his fg% wont be too high. imo

Tanking is not a problem that needs to be addressed. Especially when the worst record only has a 25% chance of winning the lottery.

Orlando could have been a top contending team if Dwight would have stuck it out.

Yes Otis Smith screwed the team a little by trading for Vince (he's one of my all time favorites) and Agent Zero, and sending Gortat away, but that was in response to Dwight complaining about lack of talent. Even then, that team was still contending. Those teams were built perfectly for Dwight. Surrounded him with 3 point shooters for when he posted up, and a pick and roll guard how would give him the ball 95% of the time when he rolls. Plus a couple of defensive specialist.

Dwight is a idiot. It's poetic justice with what he is going through now. It's funny watching Houston try and build Orlando 2.0... All Orlando was missing was one extra piece. Btw, I have no ill feelings towards D12. Matter of fact, when the rumors that he wanted to leave begin to get louder and louder, I personally went down to the Amway Center and held the doors open for him and told him he will never have it as good and be loved like he is here in the O

Someone please let me know if im bring a homer, or if somewhat right. I need someone else's opinion in order to know if im just still bitter.

Without Stan there, that Orlando team would have never sniffed a Finals. He was brilliant that season and maybe only one other coach (Pop the Gawd) could have replicated that success.

Guy got a bunch of lawn chairs and Dwight Howard to be a Top 5 defensive team. Pretty impressive stuff.

SVG is another point I forgot to mention. This team was a 40 win team before he came, and won 52 games his first year. Then went on to 59, 59, and 52 win seasons. Dwight couldn't handle someone getting on his arse. SVG wasn't going to babysit him and give him the ball everytime he complained. Yet, he goes and plays with Harden.

Responding with my opinion bc you asked... I don't think you're completely off-based but the piece they were missing was a #1 scoring option. Outside of a lot of luck, I don't see any team winning a championship with Howard as the #1 option on offense. He's a great #2 or #3 while, of course, being all world on defense. SVG did magic with that team (no pun intended), and I don't see them going out and signing/trading for a max contract shooting option so they would've had to get VERY lucky in a draft.
