He's a culture coach. There's a certain kind of roster you need to have in place for Skiles to be effective. You've got to have guys willing to be coached in place so that he's most effective. He definitely turned the Bulls' franchise around by changing the culture here. Only problem with Skiles is that his style will eventually wear on guys if they still aren't winning in the playoffs eventually.

The irony of him potentially going to coach Tobias Harris after the way they "got along" in Milwaukee is hilarious.

I think Harris is out. I believe he said he wanted to play for New York sometime during the middle of the season.

Thibs lite so yeah no coach should look to be in a position at most more than 5 years of he wants to be realistic

Dwights tech was his 7th tech and he's suspended for a game next season?

Speaking of the Wolves, can we all just take a moment to marvel at the stupidity of that 2009 draft? They had to back to back picks at 5 & 6 and wasted them on two point guards. They had Kevin Love, Al Jefferson and Corey Brewer on their roster and they realistically could have gone Steph Curry and DeMar DeRozan at 5 & 6 and could be legit looking at a title or two by now. Instead their first round went Ricky Rubio, Johnny Flynn and Wayne Ellington. Hell, they could have taken Jeff Teague, Ty Lawson, Jrue Holiday, Brandon Jennings, Darren Collison or Eric Maynor at PG but they passed on them all for Ricky ****ing Rubio and Johnny Flynn.

If I remember right, they actually drafted Lawson as well but traded him during the draft, which makes it even funnier.

Having said that, Rubio was the smart pick at the time. Flynn was a stupid pick (and I liked him as a prospect, but taking two PGs of the future back to back just made no sense).

Tobias is restricted so it's really up to Orlando, but I think Tobias has said he'd like to return as well.

Yeah Rubio wasn't nearly as bad of a choice as Flynn was.. And could still end up being a decent decision.

They did draft Lawson and then traded him for a 2010 pick that ended up being Luke Babbitt lol. Lawson could have been a steal, if the hadn't already drafted 2 point guards in the same round lol.

They also drafted Wes Johnson the next year over Cousins, Monroe, Hayward, PG. and the next year Derrick Williams over Knight, Klay, Kawhi, Vucevic, Jimmy Butler. Just horrible draft history.

Yeah, as a Cuse alum, even I don't understand why people fell in love with Wes the way they did. I guess that's what great athleticism/defensive potential and a sometimes good shot does.

Hard to hate on them for the Williams pick though; basically everyone had him as their #2 prospect after Kyrie.

Why you gotta hate on Ricky man? I mean Flynn obviously = LOL, but Ricky is cool. I mean I get he's a terrible shooter but dude can make plays.

Exactly...Skiles is being brought in to give the team an identity. This past season was a disaster in terms of the team taking that "next step" and ended up regressing. Offensive and defensive schemes were often changing, along with rotations and minutes being given to the players. Skiles will come in and tell them how it is going to be done and that's that. Hennigan has done a good job of bringing in young players that are hard workers and willing to learn...they need someone like Skiles to get results and he'll have full support from the top down. How long will he last...who knows, but he's going to have them playing hard every night and that's what's needed right now.

The Magic simply can't take a chance on someone that doesn't have NBA HC experience right now...they need a proven culture guy that can get results now. The natives are getting restless down here and the team can't afford to keep putting out a losing product on the floor. For this team, he's the best guy available right now to do the job.

Tom Thibodeau is not interested in joining the Pelicans, the Magic or the Nuggets who are on the market for a new head coach, according to Peter Vecsey.

The coach is not interested in the Pelicans because he feels Anthony Davis will leave the franchise when pact permits.
Pelicans should hire Monty Williams. Dude took a team to the playoffs in the WC that no one thought would even make it.

He's being suspended because he accumulated 4 flagrant foul points during the postseason. The league gave him a flagrant 1 after the fact from Game 5 on a forearm to Iguodala.
