But, of course, this shouldn't be news either way. Personally I gained more respect for Jordan for realizing his worth and the best situation for him considering it.Comment

Jimmer is supposedly near agreeing to a contract with the Spurs. Hmm.Comment

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
I'm actually against the "It's Richard Jefferson" mindset, because (even though we know it happens) rules shouldn't be enforced or bent based on the level of the player... news shouldn't be bigger when something shady happens if it's a superstar.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
Neither did DeAndre.
Let me point out because I think a lot of you missed my point. I wasn't throwing shade at Mark Cuban. I was just commenting on the fact that around here and certainly in the media and the general sports world, people were flipping the **** out on DeAndre about changing his mind and that was before the whole saga finished playing out and we found out he didn't call Cuban. There were people acting like this sort of thing doesn't literally happen all the time where people change their minds and the calls for changing the free agency system sure as hell didn't have anything to do with whether or not phone calls to tell the other team a decision was being made.
I was simply asking why there was no moratorium ending talks for this story and now we're talking about its different because he called Cuban and RJ isn't important enough? If people are mad about players changing their minds to the point of changing the entire system, then be consistent in that is all I ask. Same as we all ask of the refs.

Re: 2015 Offseason Thread
No one officially signs during the FA moratorium...it's all verbal commitments/honor system.
Personally, I think the moratorium is all based on hype that the NBA wants to create during the offseason...their way of being the center of attention in July. I think they should not be allowed to talk to players until the salary cap is set (the reason the NBA gives for the moratorium) and they should be able to sign freely after that point.XBL & PSN: zasbury25Comment

The moratorium period isn't about creating hype. It's the league going through their accounting for that year. I know most of us are cool and do our stuff in about an hour or two with Turbo Tax or something, but it takes a little longer to handle the billions of dollars they're working with
