Basically Kobe is damned either way, whatever he does is the wrong decision.
Kobe goes for 40+ for the win, he's a ball hogg.
Kobe shoots less, he is not agressive/big ego/etc.
Kobe plays the all around game, he's a stats whore.
But this has to be the biggest of them all. On one hand, when Kobe DOES win championships with Shaq, people come out and say he is a second fiddle, coattail rider of Shaq, he wasn't the man, and they just discredit the hell out of him.
Why do players win championships? To get that "feeling?" Yes. To get that sense of accomplishment? Yes. But every sports athlete, every human being wants to be the best and wants to win championships to be recognized and credited for. I don't care what you say, but everyone wants to earn the credit of winning it all.
So Kobe figures, he's won back-to-back-to-back championships, yet people still doubt him, still discredit his game because of Shaq. People actually come out and say, "he should lead a team of his own, no Shaq, if he wants to be considered an elite player." So Kobe now has found himself on a new team. The result?
"The bitch broke up a dynasty."
"The loser his a glory hog and wants to win by himself only."
"He's a self-centered *****"
Now do you see the irony in this?
