He doesn't attack with the intention to score enough.

It's tough without a jump shot. The Warriors are going under everything and clogging the lane. He'll always be able to Bron his way into 20-25 pts but it's impossible to go supernova just barreling into a clogged lane all night. He needs to hit some outside shots.

Lebron losing his jumper is one of the more puzzling things in recent memory (been 2 years now, it's not a slump). I always thought shooting aged well.

WAs he ever that great a jump shooter?

He did shoot it better, in fact surprised people in his rookie year with how much better he shot the 3 than people expected.

But his jump shot isn't what made him an elite scorer.

Anyways when he was having problems scoring outside the paint there was speculation that all the minutes he's played could be catching up to him and there could be a gradual decline.

He's still explosive to the rim but maybe he's not quite the Lebron of 4-5 years ago.

He doesn't need to be great. He just has to be good enough so teams have to respect it. Right now, they're just going under everything and giving it to him. If he hits a couple, they take a couple more steps toward him which gives him clearer paths to the basket and clearer passing lanes. There's a ripple effect.

You aren't going to win much in the finals when your primary ball handler has 8 turnovers.

Lebron was never a great jump shooter but he did improve remarkably in Miami. He shot 57% one season and a lot of that was down to his jumpshot being better. There are a number of factors but I think the deterioration of his back has been a big player in it, his jumpshot looks like it strains his back quite a lot and since he started having problems he has looked uncomfortable with his jumper. There are steps he could take to improve his form but at 31, I'm not sure he'd be willing to. But his form is an issue, he takes almost every jump shot as if it was a fadeaway.

Can we all remember that the Cavs signed a dude that had a 27 14 and 4 season. He has looked NO WHERE NEAR that guy.

Add in the fact that he is a liability on defense and his 3 pointer is suspect unless he is wide open.....K Love wasn't what he was advertised as.

I agree that he hasn't been as good as advertised. I still think Love can be a very good player on the right team. However, in my opinion he's more suited for an motion offense like he was in under Adelman than he is with this Iso, spot up stuff that he's been in with the Cavs.

Defensively he's too much of a liability against teams like GS, OKC or SA. I'm not sure if he'll ever be a major player on a championship team with the way good offenses can abuse him. He almost has to play the perfect offensive game to make up for his defensive deficiencies. At least he has been trying harder on defense, but effort alone doesn't help you from getting torn apart by GS.

He was stuffing the stat sheet on a terrible team in Minny and I think a lot of fans knew he wasn't as good as his numbers indicated. I didn't watch a ton of him in Minny but based on highlights and every time he faced the Knicks I never came away impressed. He's never been great at finishing near the rim. His defense has always been subpar. This is kinda how it goes in the NBA and I wish we had a term for it - guys who go nuts in the regular season on terrible teams but get exposed in the playoffs eventually.

Now he's a third wheel who's primarily a spot up shooter - nearly half of his FGA were beyond the arc this year. His defensive woes are in the spotlight now for casual fans and the media to pick apart as are his relative offensive limitations. Bottom line is that he was overrated by some but also that LeBron/Kyrie/Love aren't a great fit.
