Wait.
Did you just put Kobe and Curry in the same sentence when it comes to shooting long range AND say Nash didn't have range and couldn't shoot off the dribble?Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment

Charlotte? Oh yeah I guess I've heard that before. But nah, you can't have that title, that belongs to my homeland.Comment

You know who only shows up at home? Role players.
I'm just sayin' this while looking at Kyrie and KLove.Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment

Yep. I'm feeling a split right now but I've been dead wrong so far. Role players are one thing for Cleveland, which RJ and Thompson have played well. It's Kyrie, Love, Frye, Smith, and Shumpert that need to show up. And then if GS role players don't show up, well you can bet Steph and Klay will.Comment

As far as shooting off the dribble, Nash definitely didn't have the range that curry has.. But I would wager that a large bulk of his shots did indeed come off the dribble, that was his game. Nash was never a spot up shooter.. As far as being open goes, idk the numbers for this season, but I remember last season over half of Curry's shots were considered open/wide open by the NBA.com shot tracker.. Shot tracking doesn't go back to the Nash days, but 50% is quite a large number, if Nash is higher it cannot be by much.
Nobody can know for certain how Nash's percentages would stand up against an increase in volume. But he was pretty remarkable in his own right. Curry just had his 1st 50/40/90 season and Nash has the NBA record at 4 season of hitting that milestone.
In fact his 8years at Phoenix he averaged a combined average of better than 50/40/90, and on his career narrowly misses that mark at 49/40/90 (only player in history with those numbers).. For his 6 year peak he's at about 51/45/91 his career eFG% is 55.6, and from 2001-2010 he led the league in offensive efficiency of guards.

I don't know the numbers, I just know what I used to see, and Nash was the king of hitting shots he had no business hitting.
Curry just does it consistently from 25-27 feet. [emoji3]Originally posted by My Wife"The Celtics only won because they have a magical elf playing for their team...."Comment

Re: The Finals: Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Golden St. Warriors Part 2
But where Orlando focused on playing inside out and using Howard to draw defenses in for his shooters, Houston has played with the idea of taking more shots outside.
I'd love to see how many of Orlando's 26 threes a game came from passes in the paint versus how many of the 30 a game from Houston come from iso."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
