Only way we care at all what happens to Cam is if we trade for 8+10, he's not going with the 3rd pick.

      Re: NBA Draft 2019

I keep hearing people mentioned how Cam had to play third fiddle to RJ and Zion. While part of that is true, he had plenty of opportunities when Zion was out to truly show what he was capable of and came up short. I've never seen a player miss so many gimme layups, lose the ball in traffic and pick up offensive fouls from blindly driving into the lane.

And I say this as a guy who's a Duke fan and is rooting hard for Cam's success. Hopefully he is one of those players who is made for the NBA and not college.

Just to reiterate, NY will be kicking themselves for years if they draft Barrett over Reddish if that's what ends up happening. Heard it here first! [emoji41]
I'm shocked no one took the bait here lol

I just want the Knicks to draft whoever NO likes the most and use it (and whatever else) to get AD. Especially if they're getting KD. Gotta go for it now !

But what if AD doesn't want to stay..... I don't think people think about this.

Latest rumor Hawks could trade 8 & 10 for 3.

I don't see how that happens before we find out about what's happening with AD and I don't see how that's settled before the draft. It would also be a pretty bad fit with RJ wanting the ball so much.

Seems like a weird move for the Knicks

Well they'd have to get him commit to re-sign.

It's too light, even in a suspect draft.

Haha Not exactly the same situation. But you ever heard what Carlos Boozer did to the Cleveland Cavaliers?

Yes and no.. Cavs had an option on Boozer for super cheap, last year on his rookie deal that all teams have to keep their draft picks another year. Supposedly there was a hand shake agreement where the Cavs would waive his team option and offer him a contract as a restricted free agent so he could get the money he felt he deserved. I don't remember the years and terms, but it would have been solid deal. Utah then swooped in and offered about 20 mil more, technically he was restricted but the Cavs didn't have the money to match..

At the end of the day this was just one of many stupid front office moves from the Cavs in that time. But situations like that are why teams should be weary of what a player says he will do. Not too many years ago Kyrie was staying in Cleveland forever, then he wanted his jersey to retire in Boston, now it looks like he might be leaving them too..

The move itself also somewhat hurt the Cavs shot at maybe competing with San Antonio in 2007. They snagged up Larry Hughes the year after all of this with money that would have likely been given to Boozer. Hughes was hurt through the playoffs and unavailable in the finals. The Cavs in general were a defensive team, that offensively went about as far as Bron could take them. Not too much unlike the Iverson team that also made the finals..

Boozer wasn't necessarily like having a second super-star, but he was the extra scorer the Cavs needed. He was giving the Spurs 20+ and 10+ in the playoffs himself, and could spread the floor with jumpers and high screens. Spurs were able to completely pack it in on Bron, no low post scoring threats, no strong shooters.. This resulted in the Cavs electing to play Boobie Gibson an insane amount of minutes rather than Eric Snow getting some of those minutes, which in turn meant that Tony Parker felt like he was going for 40 every night.

Spurs would have won regardless, but maybe we got to see LeBron play a bit more like they way he needed to be able to play if they had that 2nd guy out there for defenses to worry about, and maybe we get a competitive 6 game series instead of arguably the most lop sided finals in the past 20 years or so.
