    Re: 2018-19 Transaction Thread

This stuff is gonna hurt LeBron’s legacy. It’ll be two times in a row he’s left a team in tatters by the time he leaves so he can chase his rings. The Lakers get better with Davis, that’s obvious. But is giving everything up that you have long term worth it. For casual fans and bandwagon fans it is, but I can’t imagine die hard Laker fans like the idea of the roster they’ve been building for the last three or four years being dismantled for a two or three year run that might not even produce, especially with all of the Golden State stars getting older and seeing that their biggest rivals are building a team with clever draft picks and good free agent signings.

2016 was great for us but it was probably the only time a strategy like that was justified given our championship drought. Lakers aren’t short on banners. What happens in 2025 if AD is in the last year of his deal, LeBron has already retired and all they have is a string of vets on one year deals or terrible contracts and no draft picks because they all got traded away so LeBron can have rings? Cos that’s what Cleveland is now.

      Anyway,

It seems like the trades that have this much lead up never actually go down or reportedly "fall apart at the last minute"....then a day later AD gets traded to the Bucks outta nowhere.
After Paul George and Kawhi this definitely seems like what will happen.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Bucks have been mentioned now so it can’t be them. It’ll be Sacramento or Orlando or something

Its the difference between smart picks and dumb ones. However I don't see how you expect growth of young players when the constant message of confusion between develop and win now is put out there.

Look at DAngelo Russell. Dudes 1st year was wasted in LA so Kobe could chuck up whatever bricks he wanted and leave smiling at the crowd.

Now the dude is an all star. Times change and while I get no accepting mediocrity, you can't always have the foot pedal to the medal all of the time.
Would you really call the last couple years foot on the pedal for the Lakers? lol

Some of y’all kill me with this stuff..

For one, ain’t nothing that happens off the court effecting LeBron’s “legacy” as a basketball player. Hell ain’t nothing he does from this point on changing anything other that for people who only care about rings or only care about career totals. Best basketball is behind him.

For two, y’all give him way too much credit for what happens GM/coach wise to begin with.

For three, Lakers, and Cavs for that matter, weren’t building anything but teams that couldn’t make the playoffs... not really much to “ruin”.

Nah you guys suck now because your FO is full of morons. You traded Kyrie when you didn't have to for a broken down player and you gave Kevin Love an awful contract that nobody will touch. And what young talent did you trade away? Dion Waiters? Andrew Wiggins? Anthony Bennett? I'm sure you'd love to still have those guys instead of your title, right? Lol you got a short memory man.

It's not gonna change his legacy. It'll be more fuel for LeBron haters and another thing to ignore for LeBron lovers. No one is switching sides at this point lol.

                          Yeah, I agree.

That Lebron effect is overrated. I mean it's not his name getting mentioned on these transaction reports since he's never been an official GM. Lebron doesn't have any pull with any teams, that's all fake news.

Y’all crazy anyway. I’d give anything for Memphis to land a top 5 player and have a real shot at winning a ring just once, much less compete for 4 years. Who the **** cares if it means Jaren Jackson is out [emoji23] or if they have to rebuild after the fact.

At some point you rebuild anyway, and there is too much player movement to just hang on to everyone. Literally one team a decade builds a team to win, everyone else has to make moves.
