Guess what the 76ers record was that season............

    22-60

While AI is a good player, he's over-rated when people put him in the same category as Kobe, Shaq, Duncan, and KG.

I do believe he will be in the HoF but he's gotten far more credit and praise from the press and fans that what he deserves based on his play.

See, what you call "negativity"....I call "reality".

Is he 5 ft. 10 inches? Yup

Does he slack off on the training that he should go through to not only protect his body from injury, but also miss out on his rehab workouts? Yup

Does he act immature still, especially LAST YEAR? Yup

Is he still not a good shooter? Yup.

Can you still not get good enough trade value for Iverson? Yup.

Those are all truths. So how is that negativity? Negativity is if I said the things Asianflow is saying. I will never say Iverson is overrated.

And how am I being negative, when in my first post I said he should be in the Hall Of Fame?
So you assume that is the reason the Sixers resigned Iverson?

I think you're forgetting how good the East was when AI took them boys to the Finals. They went through Reggie and the Pacers who were an awesome 8 seed, Ray Allen and that star-studded Bucks lineup, and Vince and the Raptors when Vince was in his prime. On top of that, they were the only team to beat LA that year in the post season, and it was on the road.

What is your problem? How could you say that Iverson is not in the same category as Kobe, Shaq, Duncan, and KG? First of all, Iverson took the Sixers on his back and took them to the NBA Finals. KG has never taken his team past the first round. Kobe is a great player, but as you can see this year so far, he's not taking his team anywhere near the Finals. Adding on to that fact, Kobe has had the most dominant center in the history of the NBA in Shaq. Duncan and Shaq are some of the greatest players to ever be in the NBA. Duncan has championships, Shaq has championships. Just because Iverson doesn't have a ring makes him not in their category? Iverson hasn't even had the privlege to play with a good supporting cast like the rest of those players have. Not to mention the fact that Iverson is under six feet tall. The rest of those playes are either super athletic (Kobe), or just dominant big men (KG, Shaq, Duncan). I'm sorry, I didn't know that just because you're not so tall that makes you not in the league of other great players. Look at Iverson's career averages, not to mention the fact that he is top 10 in NBA history in career scoring averages. Stats don't lie. You think Patrick Ewing doesn't have the same caliber as any of the other great big men? Some of the greatest players to ever play the game haven't won championships. To say that Iverson is not in the elite group of players is to say that he is equal to players such as Michael Finley. People who don't suck, but they are decent players. And don't give me that "the West is harder" crap, cause the Lakers got their tails handed to them last year by the Pistons. I'm so sick of people acting like Iverson doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the elite group of players.

                  Re: Allen Iverson

And another thing I'd like to add, Iverson's career average for minutes per game is 41 minutes. How many players do you know in the league play almost every minute of a regulation game? It's common sense why someone plays over 41 minutes per game for his career, because he's a valuable player to his team and in order for the team to be sucessful that player has to be in the game at all times for the team to even have a chance to win. How many player you know in the NBA have 8 career 50 pt games? 3 of those 50 pt games coming in the playoffs? When it counts? Jordan has done it many times in his early years with the Bulls. Even Jordan admitted that he couldn't have won ANY of those championships without the teammates he had. You think any of the teammates Iverson had were the caliber of Pippen, Armstrong, Paxson, Rodman, or even Kerr for that matter? Even Jordan never took his team to the Finals without the help of those great players. I'm obviously not comparing Iverson to Jordan, what I'm doing is trying to explain that everyone needs help to win a championship. Not even the best of the best players in the NBA can single-handedly win a championship without good players around them.

Look up the West vs. East head to head matchup records the past 5 years as well as the NBA champions and then tell me the West is harder is crap.

It's foolish for you to say it looks like Kobe won't be taking his team anywhere near the finals. We're not even half way through the season yet.
