It’s not like you’re trading Siakam for Westbrook.. you’re also getting Paul George and Kawhi..

That move probably wins them a second championship. And even if Kawhi signed a 1+1 and bolted after winning a second ring you still have Paul George and Westbrook under contract. If they want out fine, look at the haul Paul George just got from the Clippers.. that’s a much better haul than just keeping Siakam..

They really thought that one through.. of all the things Masai has done right, this wasn’t one of them IMO.

That mans not even an all-star.

This is IF these reports are accurate, which im skeptical because i doubt we ever really get the full stories, but since Maj is talking on this scenario...

For arguments sake you'd rather keep Kyle lowry and Siakim over PG and Westbrook?

If OKC wanted that trade straight up right now you wouldn't take it?

I don't know man..and I like Siakim, but im sure Masai is attached to him because that's his baby.

Miami said they are not trading Herro

      BTW, Minny let Tyus go

The Minnesota Timberwolves are declining to match the Memphis Grizzlies’ three-year, $28M offer sheet for restricted free agent guard Tyus Jones, league sources tell ESPN.
Among reasons for not matching on Jones: Minnesota is pursuing max cap space in 2020 free agency. Without space this summer, Wolves were a finalist for D’Angelo Russell. They’ll work to get back into market with real flexibility next year.

They still have selfish Jeff Teague

Hey man, Im with you, but he's dealing with Pat Riley, we'll see. I always think first that if something cant be worked out a 3rd team can always enter the picture.

I actually like this. Maybe it will cut down on some of the flopping or calls that are made where the refs think should a calls but they didn't actually see anything, or calls/no calls when refs are out of position, etc.

I remember some complaining when they tried the news shot clock rules in SL last year then added it in the NBA and that was a welcomed changed, in my opinion. The challenges haven't bothered me in SL so I think it will be fine. Plus, it made for some entertaining TV, getting to watch Jaxson Haynes "baptize" that poor dude over and over again when the opposing coach tried to challenge in an attempt to get an offensive foul.

I'm all for changes to make the game quicker. The shot clock adjustment last year, for example. I'll wait and see on this, but I'm expecting there to be much more stoppage in play this season.

Short of removing free agency, I don't know.

Players don't care about making more money so that's not an incentive.

The ability to lock a player into more years is actually anti-player so the players don't want that. Even Paul George took a 4-year deal last year with OKC instead of the 5 they could have offered him.

If you add restrictions, you're telling players they can't control their own destinies which is also anti-player and the union would never agree to it.

Maybe instead of the League focusing on what players are doing to control their destinies, the League should seriously look into why players don't want to stay with their teams. Maybe the problem isn't free agency but everything that leads up to a player wanting out of a situation.

No one wants to be on a bad team forever. Bad teams need to start looking at themselves instead of blaming the players for not being loyal. And fans need to stop being angry when players use their ability to be free agents instead of wasting away their prime years in a bad situation.

At most, maybe just do the MLB format? You can extend a 1 year QO to a guy (in this case, maybe it becomes a 1 year max salary deal), and if the player rejects, he becomes a FA, but has a 1st pick tied to him.

If you want to sign multiple guys who have a pick attached, then 1 will have to be a S&T.

That idea is already terrible in the MLB, last thing we need is for it to spread.

                            Big news per shams

Kawhi Leonard has signed his Los Angeles Clippers contract — a three-year, $103M maximum contract with a player option in the third season, league sources tell

Leonard has signed a two-plus-one and aligned his contract with Paul George -- with both players having the ability via player option to enter 2021 free agency.

2+1 deal, so he's gonna take supermax afterwards....or if Clippers dont even make NBA finals in next 2 years, does Kawhi and/or PG leave and we start up this saga again.

And is this further proof nobody knows anything? Did anyone report a 2+1 deal with LAC? Even when news broke hes going to LA, they all said 4 years. And report before he signed was hes not signing short deal no matter where he goes

Kawhi can't take the supermax unless he opts into that third year.

This is a great example of how these players do NOT care about more money. We care about $50mm or whatever because it's ****ing $50mm. But when you already make $160mm, why should an extra $50mm persuade me when I should be good for life with what I already got? It's not going to make these dudes billionaires. It's just extra money to put in the bank and still be a millionaire.

Kawhi doesn't care about the supermax is what I'm getting at. He cares about winning and he's putting the onus on the Clippers to also care while he's wearing a uniform.
