    Re: 2019 Offseason Thread

I feel like what he's actually saying isn't even anything that bad. I think with it being Rich Paul and the amount of noise it's getting makes this whole thing seem a lot messier than what he's actually saying is.

He's basically just letting everyone know that he plans to test free-agency regardless. Which is probably 100% true of any big name player represented by any agent. The whole "if he leaves don't blame Rich Paul" is probably more a response to the reaction of everyone pointing so many fingers at him, and blaming him, etc.

The whole thing is a cluster-****, but I do wonder if some of that isn't just because of how the media likes to interpret all of this... Like for example if this was any other player asking to be traded would this all be being made into the ****-show it is because they can tie the "OMG it's Rich Paul, LeBron, Lakers" etc...

I feel like the Melo trade situation was similar, he just wasn't wearing "that's all folks" t-shirts and I remember it being said that he wouldn't sign an extension but I don't remember Leon Rose doing a full magazine spread about it.

I have a friend that works in the Suns front office.

Seem pretty confident that the Suns are about to land Lonzo Ball in a 3 team for AD.

Don't know all the details but they are confident they are about to get it done. We'll see....

          Best news today

SOURCES: Sports by Brooks has learned that Michelle Beadle will not return as the host of ESPN's NBA Countdown next season. SbB has also learned Chauncey Billups and Paul Pierce won't return as fulltime analysts and that Maria Taylor may take over as host. https://t.co/2NhDGtve7I

For the Lakers sake, heres to hoping they keep Kuzma at least, if not hopefully something is received from Phoenix. Never was wild about Kuz, BI, Lonzo, and the 4th pick all going out the door if the only return is AD..

Sucks to lose Zo because who the hell is gonna be their PG?

On the flip side, I'm excited for the Suns to finally have a damn PG!

He's pretty much the ideal fit for Booker.. And they actually would have someone to get the ball to Ayton.

Unless they agree to take on a bad contract they'll have cap space to sign a point guard. But they would also have that same space if they can keep Kuz and Hart as well.. Those deals being so low would be perfect for them. It's all a long shot though.

Aaron Bynes opted into his 6 million deal with Boston with the understanding he wouldn't be part of any AD trade.

According to Windhorst, AD has "instructed Rich Paul to get him to the Lakers".

I don't know why Boston is even bothering. What can they offer exactly? I don't think Tatum alone gets it done and I think Tatum and Brown is too much, especially if Kyrie is leaving. Why lose Tatum + Brown and then lose AD the following year with nothing to show for it?

The Lakers better find a shooter from a third team because Griffin is too smart to surround Zion with a bunch of players who don't compliment him. None of the Lakers youngins can shoot from the outside (Jrue wasn't great from deep last season either) so they need to get someone who can space the floor and open things up for Zion.

If I'm the Lakers though, why even bother offering anything good?

It's a messed up situation imo.

Everyone knows Pelicans will trade him, so Pelicans asking price cant be high

But everyone also knows he's gonna wind up on Lakers within a year, so Lakers aren't gonna be caving into Pelicans demands.

If Pelicans deal him to LA and get even a half decent return, they'd be so lucky. Lonzo and future picks is best I'd even want to give up if I'm LA.

NO is going to want BI by far over the other two assuming he's healthy, but the Lakers should absolutely try to keep one of those 3.

Per Woj it looks like from the Lakers side all they are looking for is a 3rd team willing to send a "high level player" in exchange for the Lakers number 4 pick. Deal would involve Ingram and Ball with the Lakers keeping Kuzma. Boston in talks with New Orleans as well.

per silverscreenandroll the Lakers have "made progress" with a 3rd team, though details on which team is unclear. Previously Suns and Bulls had shown interest Lonzo for their picks, but those died down neither of those scenarios are getting NO a high level player now.

Apparently Pels not interested in what the Knicks have to offer.
