I wouldn't do that deal for the Bulls. My thinking would be better fits alongside Joel. But definitely not a good trade for the Bulls at all. Ben would benefit being in the Draymond role, where the offense is more uptempo and less focus on posting up

Re: 2021 Offseason Thread
Even despite this horrible lottery situation tonight and losing out on that first round pick, in what ridiculous, *** backwards world does anyone think it's even remotely close to being a logical or beneficial move for the Bulls to trade Zach LaVine for Ben Simmons. LaVine is one of the best young scorers in the league who has improved his game every single season he's been in the league and the Bulls are going to give him up for a dude who's clearly regressing and has a bloated contract on top of that? GarPax not running the show here anymore, that's some stupid **** that they would actually entertain. We've already had Ben Simmons Lite here, his name was Kris Dunn. Defensive minded PG who can't shoot.
I think Ben Simmons is a more impactful player than LaVine personally. But I also think Ben can hop over to a non big dominant team and average something like 18 to 20/8/8. Maxey and White are both likely to be 18-20 a night caliber guys as they develop.
I personally feel LaVine is a good scorer, great option to go to late because he’s not scared of the moment and can create space and shots.. but I feel like he’s basically like having Beal when there is no Wall or Westbrook. Just somewhat empty scoring.
I do think a combination of White, Maxey, Ben, Williams, Vuc is a better combination than having to play Satorsnsky over White because he and LaVine have too much of an overlap and there is a desperate need for even the slightest amount of playmaking and defense.
It is a tough decision to trade your only plus scorer for a guy who’s not an elite scorer.. but I think both Maxey and White would make a jump forward and Ben with a young team that can get out in the open floor and the big is a floor spacer, I think that makes Ben a “special” player personally. I do get the reservations around him though.

Was really hoping the Knicks would take a shot at him when we had our opening, will be interesting to see how it works out. Also wondering where Carlisle ends up.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Always figured one of the 3 Assistants(Udoka, D’Antoni, Vaughn)would be gone after this season regardless of how it went.
Happy for him though.#RespectTheCultureComment

This will test the Bulls front office acumen.
If you think Lavine is a goner, you move him. Recoup the picks given to Orlando. Surround Ben with shooters but keep Vuc as option #1.Comment

Re: 2021 Offseason Thread
I agree. I think it'll be best to get something for Lavine now instead of letting him walk next summer. I don't see a huge name Free Agent signing there, so it'll be best to get what you can now.Comment

Re: 2021 Offseason Thread
Interesting fit for the Pacers after firing a coach who lost the locker room with the stories coming out on Carlisle yelling at his players and inanimate objects.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: 2021 Offseason Thread
Carlisle carries credibility, is proven and has won, so he can get away with that.
And OJ, you think they might revisit that Dinwiddie/Kuzma swap that was supposedly talked about around the trade deadline.#RespectTheCultureComment

I’m really interested to see how it plays out. He hasn’t won a playoff series since their best player was 14.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it
