Do Doc and Harden get along? Will Doc know his role and watch himself with Harden?

Just like the way he forced himself out of Houston by fighting with teammates, showing up late because you wanted to be in Vegas.

We can’t sit here and talk/fuss about guys giving effort all the time but then brush this off like it’s nothing or that he’s justified in doing that.

That being said, I hope he finds his happiness and can have the success in Philly that he never had a chance to have here. I hope he finds a way to ditch this style of just isolating the ball until the last possible second before passing it off. He gets to go from playing with one legit MVP candidate to another one in Embiid and the last thing he needs to do is start limiting/taking touches from Embiid or having guys like Maxey or Harris or Green(he still any good)just stand around watching him.

We already know he’s going to get his FTs since that’s a part of his game but he needs to find a way to get that 3pt shot back(since those are the only 2 types of shots he takes). As we’ve seen in the last year, he’s not blowing by guys anymore especially 2 hamstring “injuries” in less than a year and that he’s still not healed from the first one according to him but if he can actually buy in and take advantage of Embiid’s constant double teams, it should give him the same looks he was getting when he was out there with KD.

Another good thing with him going to Philly is that he’ll actually be able to “hide” on Defense so hopefully that means his “Olè!” Defensive days are behind him. But Will, I hope it works out better for y’all than it did for us and that y’all do everything possible except come up short of a championship and continue wasting Embiid’s years until those injuries catch up! And when Ben comes back to Philly(I think he’s going to play and it would be ridiculous of him not to play that game)that his first shot is a knock down pull up 3 in transition that paves the way for a Nets win [emoji1476][emoji1478]

That is the key, concerning Doc. From what I've seen the past season and half, Doc is the type of coach where you have to fit inside his system. Like earlier in the season, he had Maxey playing in the dunkers spot with a similar role to Ben before he finally adjusted. I'd rather a coach adapt and play to players strengths than to force a system on players. Doc always mentions pace and the ball not sticking. Harden and Joel will for sure slow down the pace and relegate Harris, Maxey, Thybulle/Green roles to Spot ups and drives.

I really don't see Ben playing that game. It will get bad. Heck even Wendy's posted a tweet about that game lol. Unless they have a playoff series against Philly, I don't see him playing in Philly this season. Especially if his mental health thing is real, he feels that Philly in general is very toxic

Oh, I want that Nets/Sixers series. You know Embiid is one of those players who can really go into a **** you mode. No more "we are friends", no more "we can co-exists", none of that garbage we always suspected it was bull****. In a playoffs series I would expect Embiid to go hunt Ben and in turn Simmons to shrink from the challenge. Enough pretending, the gloves are coming off.

                  Re: 2021-22 NBA Trade Deadline

Though I'm still not 100% on Harden, this was going to be the plan all along. Daryl believes in the 2 superstar approach. So even if he would have taken a complementary players package, there's a high percentage that he would have flipped it in the offseason. There's the obvious downsides with Harden, but I'd rather take the big risk with Harden than a role player package(for just half a season). The goal for Morey was always Harden, Beal, and Lillard. What they gave up now is on a similar level or even less than they would have had to in the offseason. They would have needed to salary dump Tobias and a pick, and probably Danny and Furkan as well to go the sign outright route. And in a S&T, they would still have to get rid of contracts on top of what they give up in a S&T because of hard cap implications. So in the end, Daryl was always going to go for the second superstar. It was just going to be now or the offseason. Out of the big 3, I probably would have preferred Lillard. Lillard has more of the "killer," mentality than the other two and still have more years on his contract.

It does suck to lose Curry. Before Curry was starting to get dinged up, the 2 man game with Embiid was legit. Curry with a good look from Mid range was money. It will be an adjustment period. With Curry out, there's a lot less off ball movement having Maxey, Harden, Matisse, and Harris. It would be nice if Harden embraces any sort of off ball game. If he could do some of the Curry two man actions with Embiid, that would really open up everything. Harris and Maxey will need to accept their roles. But, they still need to allow Maxey to do what he does. Maxey is the only player that gives the Sixers a "fastball" on offense. We got back Shake last night, which should help. I would still rather have a true backup PG, but with Shake back that should end the Furkan point guard minutes. But, we definitely need a backup Center. I don't want to trust 37 year old Millsap, BBall-Paul, or Bassey. While I'm going to miss the rebounding, post playmaking(when he's not flashy), and he was solid in rim protection, I do like the idea of having a small ball 5 behind Embiid.

I can see them holding out Harden until after All Star Break. It was already decided that he wasn't playing the back to back this past night and tonight. Then we play Boston and Milwaukee next week before ASW. As much as I would like to see him playing and gaining chemistry, I can see the idea of playing it safe and keeping him out. It would give him 3 weeks total to get himself fully right for the playoff push.

You know I respect you right?

James Harden better be ready to sacrifice some things. Same for Embid. Your talking about Curry and the DHO series they would run. Nets ran a similar Double DHO series off the corner. But they can't run that all night long. Embid will start to feel it. I think Doc got an interesting puzzle to fix between them.

All I got to say personal is **** James Harden [emoji1787][emoji23][emoji1787]. I say that with so much respect. Because I never say **** like that.

I had a funeral last night watch all the games they played together for the Nets. The Trio was a puzzle the NBA still hasn't figure out because there just isn't enough film on them together [emoji1787][emoji23][emoji1787]. Kyrie is probably facing the most double teams he's faced since his first few year in the Cavs without LeBron. Watching the Boston-Nets series last year. Holy ****... They didn't know what to do with them.

                      I agree.

Both have to sacrifice. Joel doesn't like to dive on PNR and he has said he doesn't like to do lobs. As a Philly fan, we don't really like Joel leaving his feet unless it's for a open dunk lol. Doc said how Harden tried to recruit him to be HC last year before he chose Philly. Not sure how willing Harden is going to do those DHOs. The main thing, we would want is a motivated Harden. You can't expect Rockets Harden, but at least would want the MVP candidate version from last year before injury.

If we can get a motivated Harden, that's two players who command a double team. Which should help both players. Joel has been a lot quicker with his decision making Post Covid and Harden won't pass up the open shots like the other teammates do often times. That's more of the issue than the Embiid-Harden pairing. Maxey-Harris-Thybulle are the most unwilling trio of Catch and Shoot 3pt players. All three pump fake and take bad shots. Maxey has shot the ball well this year, but most of his threes comes off the dribble or pull ups. If those 3 would be more willing to catch and shoot. Even though we have more shooters, we still attempt the second fewest three point shots a game as a team. They need to be willing to take those shots since it will be there. Keep Thybulle/Green in the corner and Harris and Maxey needs to take those open shots or be quick and efficient in the pump fakes and drives

Here is that action I was talking about. The only difference is James would of pulled it out if they got the switch. These are the parts James needs to change in his game. He does attack from that often.

If anyone is also just killing time before the SB, here's JJ Redick's take on the deadline moves:

I am loving this new trend of players starting their own analysis and breakdown "sports talk shows" after their playing days come to an end.

Edit: By far best line in that video --
Tommy: Are you surprised the Lakers didn't do anything?
JJ: No. I'm not surprised they didn't do anything, I'm more surprised they didn't do anything stupid.
