Still hoping the Pistons get that 1.7% lucky ball and either get the #1 or #2 pick in the draft.
I think Davis-Monroe would be amazing, and so would be having MKG to develop with Knight and Monroe.

Yeah, we can all hope....but I'm not holding my breath. Besides, I do think there's depth enough to help us if we even stay where our record slot has us. We have a lot of needs.

I do too, but I am still hoping and praying it happens.
Are they going to amnesty C Vill or B Gordon this offseason?

I think either one is ripe for amnesty-ing. Although I think it's clear that Villanueva has clearly been the worse of the two signings (sigh...seemed so promising in 2009...), I think the decision comes down to saving $16 million (on Villanueva's contract) versus $26 million (on Gordon's contract) - the money owed to each player over the next 2 seasons. Although Gordon is far more productive than Charlie V, at that price we're better off writing him off our books and trying to find cheaper / longer-term help at that spot. Charlie V is just gonna sit there on our books until the end of his contract. Guaranteed contracts....you gotta love 'em.

I hate to say it, but I wouldn't be surprised if Dumars didn't use the amnesty at all

Touche...but sometimes I think these decisions get made above him (by the owners) rather than just the GM - on all teams, not just ours. Because of the fact that we still have to pay them (the salary just comes off the books for salary cap purposes), it's a big decision that veers more toward the financial than just basketball.

Yeah there is no real need to amnesty either one unless they need the cap space for someone (I don't see Dumars making a splash in FA) or they're over the luxury tax.

Is Kyle Singler coming back next year or is he going to stay overseas?

I think that hasn't been settled yet, last I heard. I've heard he's happy in Spain, though, and there's no burning desire on his part to come back (neither is there from the team, I think). I'm not 100% sure I want the guy, frankly. I'm just not sure what he brings to the table. But maybe my overwhelming hatred of all things Duke just clouds my opinion on Singler...in fact, I'm sure of it.

So the clear need of the team in the draft is a PF. Barring hitting the lottery and getting Davis, of these guys who could be there at 9 when pick, would you like the most:

                      Jared Sullinger
                      Perry Jones III
                      John Henson

It's probably wishful thinking for Thomas Robinson to drop, but hey, Knight fell to us last year. I guess if he dropped out of the top 5, we could package our 2 2nds to move up or something. Speaking of 2nds, any guys you'd like for the Pistons to take in the second round?

                        Re: ***Official Detroit Pistons Thread***

                        I would rank them:

                        Henson
                        Sullinger
                        PJ3

I've seen a lot of debate about these guys and lately Moultrie seems to have been a contender, but I'm not sold on him.

As for our first 2nd rounder I'm hopeful Ezeli will be there, but he could rise to the 1st. Other than him, maybe a scoring guy like Orlando Johnson, or another big in Drew Gordon.

everyone > Sully. Just don't like his game for the NBA. Not big enough to play back-to-the-basket like he did in college, and.not athletic enough to hang with / defend 3's or 4's. Too much of a tweener.

What about Draymond in round 2?. Big-time tweener though....

I really don't mind Sullinger, I think his ceiling is Al Jefferson. The problem with him though is having him & Monroe together isn't really a good pairing.

I wish Drummond would fall to us (highly unlikely), then we could try and sign Kaman for about 3 years while Drummond develops, which will take awhile.

Yeah, I haven't looked at any mocks yet, so I have no idea where Day-day is projected...but he's such a tweener, I'd be surprised if he didn't make it to the 2nd round. I hope for his sake he's a 1st rounder, but I hope for ours he's there at 9 in round 2...

If Drummond fell to us that would be awesome, and him and Monroe could form one of the best front courts in the game if Monroe keeps developing and Drummond could reach near his potential.
