Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
- Number of Rounds
- Round Length
- Saved by the Bell
- Three knockdown rule
However, game play sliders that we've recently stated are in the game are, in fact, not currently in game. This is due to a late change in the game to deal with an online connectivity issue weeks before Final. The team is currently investigating the possibility of adding it back in at a later date, though that has yet to be determined. We apologize for any mis-communication around this feature and will keep you informed as to any update that may be provided.

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Just wanted to clarify some communication issues around Online Gym sliders. Users are able to change the following within their Online Gym:
- Number of Rounds
- Round Length
- Saved by the Bell
- Three knockdown rule
However, game play sliders that we've recently stated are in the game are, in fact, not currently in game. This is due to a late change in the game to deal with an online connectivity issue weeks before Final. Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
People please. I think folks are going over the deep end with this really. The game most definitely isn't half bad at all. Come on now. I consider my self a sim type of gamer also, and if I'm enjoying it I just cant see where all the slander is coming from. Phobia, I read your video review and I'm not seeing how you're just making a complete 180. Its the same exact game that you already gave a what was it 7....8 or something?Last edited by airboss75; 03-04-2011, 09:57 AM.Comment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
I was looking forward to today so much, to finally get the game in my hands. After reading these reviews, I'm a little scared now...lol. I don't play online so I could care less about that. But man, I'm still going to get the game and see for myself how it is.Comment

Its the same exact game that you already gave a what was it 7....8 or something?
Reason being
1) When I reviewed title, the game was yet to be released. So the online modes worked the way it was supposed to. We also did not know of the XP pack debacle that was fixing to erupt and the level of impact it would have on the online portion of the game. It hurt a important mode in OWC.
I have covered many of the sever balance issues they created, which I won't cover here.
2) Finding out the sliders did not work correctly came after the review and we did not get confirmation from EA till after also. So believing the game was tweakable to our liking on top of the excellent looking gameplay made for a very exciting time which was quickly crushed when we find out they don't work and are not going to fix the issue.
3) Then just as of yesterday we get confirmation that Online sliders were pulled only couple weeks before launch. So this ruined what many of us thought was going to be a very fun league game and being able to take advantage of the online gyms to the max with a realistic boxing league. Now this is not possible.
4) So this removes many of the key features for someone like myself who is a online player. Do I still stand by my 7.4 "Great" score??? YES I DO....here is why. The game is great, has plenty of modes to fill everyone needs. All portions of the review cover the key main areas.
What the review does not cover well is how sim heads who like online play will be sold short and be forced to deal with these issues.
Lastly, I have every right to be upset as a consumer. It is like going in and buying your first car which has satellite radio, which the car dealer told you it had. Then you get home with the car and start messing with it looking for your satellite radio and realize it is not there. Then you call the car dealer and they tell you "Yea we had to pull it last week because of some issues"............."BUT I PAID FOR THIS RADIO".
Same thing here, we all paid for working sliders, online sliders which we were told were in, and paid for many modes (Champion, Online ranked, Gyms, OWC, Legacy). But if you want to compete in OWC aka The Money Maker well you need to put some MORE money up so you can buy some FAKE ratings.
This is uncalled for from the #1 Sports Developer in THE WORLD! You get paid the big money, get the big license deals such as ESPN, etc because you will deliver like a superstar. Yet when that superstar makes rookie mistakes (Broken Sliders, Missing features promised, etc) they should expect to get called out for it.
No differently than when the Raiders spend Millions and Millions on JaMarcus Russell only to cut him down the road for lack of producing. EA the company, not the fight night team. But the company themselves are the big dogs and you have to be able to deliver as the leader you are. If you don't...........well.............expect people to lose faith and look else where for a savior .Last edited by Phobia; 03-04-2011, 03:10 PM.Comment

Not wasted at all, just unhappy with features being pulled
I am not making a complete 180, more like a 90

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
I think the development team has to take the heat for broken sliders. The powers that be would have certainly dictated the way the game was going to go as in pay no heed to Legacy Mode, concentrate on the Prizefighter II mode. But no way would they tell them to break stuff. They had 2 years to work on this game, nothing should have been broken on release day.
I could let go of a fighter being unbalanced or something like that. But HOW does a game go through 2 years of development and ALL these professional game developers and testers don't catch this??? This is a honest question, HOW does that happen??? Wouldn't you think they would test their game?
Like I have stated before, it comes off very much like a "Prospect" mistake.Comment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Which I agree with, all games have issues. These range from bugs to exploits. But when you have FEATURES that you state on your marketing routine.....well........they better work.

I'm downright bent right now. I wanted to go to the store and hand EA my $60. Heck, they could have charged me $100 if they had a robust legacy mode, but no.
Now I have to wait 2 more years to see what shenanigans they pull instead of delivering the boxing game we all want.Chalepa Ta Kala.....Comment

Re: Official Slider Discussion Thread
Phobia what is EA's reasoning for not fixing the sliders? I thought their would be tuner updates like the NCAA and NHL games have. I still enjoy the game but it looks like EA's support will be lacking which is not acceptable."If you don't have anything good to say, say it often"- Ed the sockComment
