Because they weren't televised on ESPN, which bases its editorial decisions primarily on the sports for which it has broadcast rights.

The NHL and NASCAR are egregious examples. When ESPN televised both, highlights from both sports were featured regularly on "SportsCenter." Now they're buried deep in the show, if shown at all, because ESPN no longer has broadcast rights to either league.

"SportsCenter" isn't a news and highlight show. It's just another promotional vehicle for ESPN properties.

I know that isn't a hardcore sports news program but if it was Mayweather or pacman then they would've covered it. They actually do show boxing on their channel. They just only cover who they think are stars or if the boxers controversial. It's just a joke. The fights last night were great action fights. I actually turned that sorry playoff game to watch them.

That's exactly what I am saying. Aren't they suppose to be world wide leader in sports?

Didn't realize Mayweather is Badou Jack's promoter. Floyd was predictably irate over the decision (as promoters get when their man doesn't win). Interestingly he said that Jack will now go up to the talent rich light-heavyweight division.

Yeah I think Jack is having hard time making weight. I can see the frustration Jack having three recent draws. I actually agree with this draw. His last one he got screwed in. He clearly won.

Just met Laila Ali at a work function.
Surprised at how tall she is. Very beautiful too.
Great speaker and seems like a really nice lady.

I'm glad this bothers someone other than me in the same way. It's so noticeable at this point that it is un-ignorable. I mean, I love football as much as the next guy, but when there were literally dozens of other sporting events that happened on a given night, do we need a 1.5-hr wrap-up & post-game on Sportscenter of the Jaguars-Panthers MNF game that everyone that cares JUST F*&^#ing SAW? ESPN is such a joke. I never thought I'd see the day that I didn't watch Sportscenter at all for months at a time, but other than actual games, I never watch the channel any more.

The only time I watch ESPN is for an occasional First Take (they just switched from ESPN 2) if I think Max Kellerman has something to say about a fight, or a controversial sports subject has just surfaced. But those are few and far between because I can't take Stephen A Smith's constant bashing and laughing about the Cowboys-it's not funny anymore.
