How has this not gotten more attention? Gotta make you raise some eyebrows at what roach is saying here.

I don't understand Roach's motivations. Why throw Pac under the bus because you hate Ariza?

I haven't seen a live fight of Mikey Garcia, but this guy is a ruthless puncher. He fights this Saturday on HBO.

The thing is, i don't think he intentionally did that. I feel like he just didn't think about what he was saying and how that could cause suspicion.

Maybe, but it's a strange thing to say. You're basically calling out a hated enemy and trying to remove any culpability from your biggest paycheck (Pac). But even if the public believes Pac didn't know what he was drinking, it takes all the luster out of some of his most memorable victories.

I've seen him fight on a handful of occasions, and I think he's the real deal. He comes from a boxing family, is clearly talented, well-schooled, disciplined, and every time I've seen him I've been impressed. He's a star in the making, and the sky's the limit for him. The only thing is I haven't seen him against top-flight competition, so there's always that caveat.

I agree w/ SPRINGS03 in that I think Freddie just wasn't thinking when he said what he said about Manny, and may not have realized he might be implicating his own guy. I've always thought it was suspicious that Manny was reluctant to do Olympic-style drug testing during the never-ending Mayweather negotiations (although he subsequently changed), but that's a discussion for another place. I'm no fan of Roach in particular, but Ariza is a proven cheater and I can't believe he's still allowed in the sport. But that's boxing I guess. Still, kind of a stunning admission by Roach, and I can't believe that reporter didn't follow-up with any questions or press harder on that point....

Curtis Stevens fights tonight on NBCSN. I'm curious to see how he looks after losing to GGG.

And speaking of GGG, is his next fight not televised? I think I read something about that that on Twitter.

Stevens should get rid of this guy early.

Apparently HBO couldn't get the logistics right from Monte Carlos. [site of GGG's next fight]

Eh, honestly i don't care about GGG's next fight not being televised, he's fighting another no name. The guy has talent and potential, but he SERIOUSLY needs to step up in competition, i haven't seen him beat a seriously notable opponent. Macklin was probably his highest rated opponent.

Needs to step up up and fight bigger names, to become a bigger name and get the attention he deserves(if he wants it).

But we all know its not that easy right now. People at 147 were legitimately taking crap fights for lesser money to avoid guys like Paul Williams no more than 5 years ago. GGG is a guy people fear and he doesn't have the ammo or name recognition to the masses to make fights just happen. Not to mention that for as long as this Golden Boy/Top Rank/HBO/Showtime horse **** is going on there are a lot of fights that won't get made.

Yeah the golden boy vs top rank, HBO Vs Showtime thing hasn't helped boxing. But i still feel like he could fight some better opposition than what he's currently facing, and hell, he's big enough he could easily move up in weight for bigger names that are right above him. Seems like the only big name i've heard him sound interested in fighting is mayweather(fight a smaller guy get your biggest pay day) and chavez jr(who i'm sure he would destroy)

Hasn't helped them either. Sheer pettiness.

As for last night, when Stevens knocked down Majewski with a left jab you knew it was over.

I was impressed by heavyweight Bryant Jennings on the Garcia-Burgos card. That was about as good a technical display of boxing as I've seen from a heavyweight. He maximized his power, minimized his opponents, showed great defense, and then capped the bout with a KO. I'd like to see him again.

Garcia-Burgos was pretty dull. The reason? Well, if you watched the fight Lampley, Max, and Andre Ward said it about 1000 times. Burgos had decided not to exchange, play it safe, not get knocked, etc. etc.,

Who can blame Burgos for being careful against a lethal counterpuncher? He did shake up Garcia with a good left hook early in the fight.

^I didn't get to see all the fights that night due to being in the gym, but i saw the end of that heavyweight fight and part of the garcia fight. From what i saw of bryant jennings, he looked kinda good. I'd wanna see him again too, although honestly i've never been a big fan of heavyweights, too slow, gas too easily, and not explosive enough for my taste(probably one of the reasons tyson is my favorite heavyweight)

As for garcia, this was one of the few times i watched some of him, but he looked good. He's really solid, nice foot work, got some hand speed and power, fundamentally sound. I'd be interested in him fighting gamboa. Though i'd heard rumors that the garcia camp wants to fight pacquiao for his second fight. Not sure if that's a great idea, jump up 2 weight classes to fight one of the top fighters in that division? Can't say i wouldn't watch that though.

Garcia is fighting for relative chump change (don't know the stake he has in the family business), so he'd jump at a chance to fight Pac-Man at 140. Pac isn't going to fight at 140, so that bout won't happen anytime soon, if at all. Gamboa is beyond a risk, Garcia would probably be an underdog (am I wrong? I could be). Too much risk, too little reward for those two to battle.
