I'm going to go out on a limb and say they're not. Not in the way you're implying anyway.

I'm not saying make it less complicated ...I'm just advocating for a central base of information front and center in the game itself which should constantly updated.
I'm in favor of a tutorial as a quality of life improvement. But as someone comfortably top 100 online in a game I pretty much don't actually play, I picked up these complicated hidden mechanics quite effortlessly..

So I agree with you that it'd be better if these mechanics were shown and explained, but nobody's going to magically get better. If you had that drive & skill you'd have figured it out by now..

      False

Go to your user CP, go to edit options, and change your setting for retaining post history to "show all posts."

You have selected the option that only goes back 15 pages, that isn't a universal setting, it's something you personally chose or never changed.

look, i asked about this Shinzo, and all his answers were not allowing to show ALL posts.

Now with you - i am going into my "User CP" > Edit options > ...then i CAN NOT find your "Show all posts" option! Where?!

Btw. i never changed anything on the forum settings!

But no offense, lets try to find out how could i unlock more than 15 pages of any person, before claiming someone in false!

Within edit options, find the section for "Thread display options."

The very last choice is "default thread age cutoff." Make sure that is set to "show all posts."

Man, there is NO "Show all posts" option, there is ONLY "Show all THREADS option" on your way points!

I setup Show all threads = the same result! GPD arena > Find all posts by GameplayDevUFC > ONLY 15 pages!

            Try it by yourself now.

No thanks, don't really care. Was just trying to help.

It looks like you're set up correctly so I don't know how else to help.

So, I was right and not “false” - there is NO way to find old (more than 15 pages) posts of anyone on OS.

                And this is very bad.

May be this is OS forum bug. May be will be helpful to report about this to admin for possible fix.

Anyway, thanks for trying to help.

Re: i feel like this game is not for casual players at all

I found that this forum issue is important b/c it prevents us from finding Devs older (than last 15 pages) posts, which contains info about the meta and hidden mechanics.

I already saw/check all old devs posts for my Meta file, but it can be helpful to other guys here.

Wrote about this "issue" to forum admin Steve_OS, i hope for his answer - is it a bug and possible ways to solve this.

There's "Show all threads". Not "Show all posts".

                    I tried it myself. He's right. It's capped at 15 pages/300 posts.

The tutorial (if made properly) isn't going to be much less dense than that 40 page walkthrough. The amount of information hasn't changed, it's just in one spot now. It will still take hours to master everything in the tutorial. You will likely have to rewatch everything in certain tutorials multiple times.

No matter what, it's going to be a timesink.

If I had stuck with the sub Reddit about ea sports UFC I wonder where I would be by now .

They aren't kind or as helpful as you and some other guys here on OSF.

                          I don't agree with that.

You might not know what's going on under the hood, but you can see and feel the affects in the game.

                          Example
You're on top in full guard as an A+ grappler against a low rated striker. They fake left, then go right. You didn't take the bait and tried to react to their real transition but it was too quick.

You now find yourself on the bottom in fullguard. You fake down, then transition left. Your opponent accidentally pressed the PS button as you started the transition, had to get back to the game and unpause but was still in time to deny you because for some reason your transition was slow as ****.

At that point you should realize that there's a mechanic at play that you're unaware of.

Then you can come on the forums and ask about it or experiment with it in game and figure out how it works on your own.

A tutorial would beneficial, I agree with that.. But as I said earlier, I don't think it's going to make a whole lot of difference..

Games such as Street Fighter, StarCraft and Dota did not have extensive tutorials for the players to learn all the mechanics. They were discovered by the players which happened a lot quicker than in UFC because the player base was much larger. The UFC community is really not that big. That being said, the game does a horrendous job teaching the basic fundamentals.

SF had official physical game guides about 400 pages with all framedata , matchups, etc
StarCraft too - large hardcover guide for every chapter.

                              so you are wrong here
