    Damien Maia....?

And BJ Penn was out of his mind back then, fighting in weight classes he had no business in.

My head says Machida, but my heart says Rua.

It's been a while since Shogun's injury now,he should be back into top shape as far as cardio is concerned.

What's going to help Shogun in this fight is that he has a lot of weapons, but what's gonna help Machida is that Shogun uses those weapons recklessly. Plays right into Machida's gameplan. Look at how many looping punches he threw in his last 2 fights. Also, his kicks are sloppy sometimes, Machida eats those alive with his left straight counter.

But with all that said, I am gonna be putting my money on Shogun and rooting for him. Shogun's career could be put in a serious tailspin if he gets embarassed here, so I'll be hoping he gets the belt.

        3rd round TKO for Shogun.

        Form is temporary
        Class is permanent

        ^^^^^^
good saying for people who are optimistic for Shogun's "comeback"

I find this f'n hilarious. A couple of days ago I said that I wouldn't pay a dime to order this fight. Now it's going to happen at 104 in LA which I WANTED to go to. FML. I blame this on Rampage. Screw you, chicken ****.

Shogun? I thought he looked bad against Coleman but Machida? I thought they wanted him to look good.

So since Tito Almost did something that means Machida can get caught? Machida hasn't even lost a round since 2004. A round.

Who said anything about being taken down. Did you forget about SG's mean thai clinch?

Yeah, but it just proves that with the right gameplan you can get inside on LM and do some damage. Shogun weighs more than BJ, and has that nasty MT clinch, and his BJJ is good enough to win a decision against LM IMHO. I mean to this day no one really knows how good LM is out of his guard.

If Rua can show up and fight like he did in Pride...

Then hands down, I stack my cards with Rua.

But I haven't seen that yet and I'm going with Machida.

For those who know Shogun from his loss to Forrest and his gassing against Coleman, this is disappointing.

For those who know Shogun from his PRIDE days, this is a fight to look forward to.

That's like saying, why isn't Chuck Liddell fighting for the belt, he owned people in 2006.

Are you drunk? Chuck is up in age now. That is not the same as recovering from an injury. You can recover from most injuries and come back 100%. It is hard, but very possible. You cant grow younger. Chuck lost a step do to his age and talking to many blows to the head lately.

I cant believe how many people have completely given up on SG.

No its the exact same thing. The last time Rua looked real good was 2006, early 2007. The last time Chuck looked real good was late 2006. Rua has blown out his knee at least once, and probably twice. He hasn't looked the same since, so why should we assume that this time will be different?
