    Apparently

    Spoiler

Is a free agent, but has been appearing without a contract.

Could this just be a storyline or the truth? Not that anyone should think they'd go anywhere else.

Or the ultimate heel move, it's a way to get around that stipulation that he can never challenge for the AEW title.

Go wrestle the Rumble, maybe show up in NJPW or Impact, work some other indy promotions, then pop back up in AEW and challenge for the title.

A story both heartbreaking and heartwarming.

Can't imagine obviously Amanda having to tell her kids this, but people like Cody and Big E making sure they're there for when she tells the kids so that they can help comfort them.

We're too used to wrestling deaths being people just suddenly going, but it's always sad hearing all these stories about everything leading up to the time that everyone close knew would happen. It's not a moment you ever want to prepare for or have time to prepare for.

                Re: AEW Off-Topic

Bully Ray had a very interesting take on Mox’s promo last night.

On today’s Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray and Dave Lagreca talked about last night’s AEW Dynamite and they praised Jon Moxley’s segment that kicked off the show. “I did enjoy that they started off with Moxley,” Bully said, “They came out with a bang, people were ready for it and Moxley said what he needed […]

Basically, he said that Mox should’ve apologized to the fans and been a bit more accountable about his absence. Lagreca did challenge Bully on this, saying the only people Mox owed an apology to was his friends and family and he doesn’t owe anything to anyone else.

Bully Ray then said he doesn’t think Mox “owed” an apology, but that he should’ve given one.

Which IMO, is kind of a contradictory statement, but whatever. He’s the one going viral for it.

                  Re: AEW Off-Topic

Mox didnt need to apologize to anyone. It's not like he committed a crime and needs to ask for forgiveness. He just left to get clean.

And unrelated, but Lio Rush announces he'll be a FA soon. At some point you have to just think that maybe he's the one rubbing people backstage the wrong way. On TV he is a good manager/mouthpiece, but if he seemingly caused waves in WWE, AEW and maybe other places, you can't entirely fault the company.

According to PW Insider, there will be additional AEW departures in the next 30-60 days beyond Lio Rush. There are several contracts coming up that will not be renewed. They were told that AEW will not be announcing the departures but will instead let the deals quietly lapse.

Sucks for Lio and it makes sense why they moved Jay Lethal + Sydal/Moriarty over as Dante's "mentor."

I wonder how much of Lio's speaking up for Big Swole - he did phrase it "wrong," but I agreed with his sentiment/actions - played a part in his departure?

I understand how some fans will claim that Lio is "problematic" or a "trouble maker," yet you can just as easily say he's an opinionated guy that is unwilling to "stay quiet."

That is applauded when it is someone else (Charlotte, CM Punk, etc.) but seems to be a negative when it is him.

And it seems like Tony Khan definitely has an issue with people airing their gripes with him/his company. First Brian Cage, now Lio and I wonder who's next?

We're finally seeing the moment people almost seemed to ignore. The honeymoon phase in AEW is over. It's hard to have bitter and/or former employees when you've been around for 1 or 2 years, basically the equivalent of a startup company or expansion franchise.

But now they're at the point where peoples contracts will start to not be picked up, or people let go, so we'll see what happens from there. Will it be the QT Marshall's of the world being let go, or could we see WWE styled releases where someone we thought would or should be pushed suddenly gets let go.

But that's part of it though. Lio isn't a Charlotte or CM Punk. Same thing happens in sports. If a LeBron or Curry says something, that's one thing, but if you're a bench guy and/or on some smaller team, you're treading water.

Sounds like Avalon,Marco,Janela and Brian Cage are the other few so far whose deals will not be renewed.

The first 3 aren't a surprise. Cage is a bit of a surprise in the sense that he was being pushed, but it just didn't work out and he's been off TV ever since. He feels more like a WWE guy, but he's also 37 already, and the way NXT is going, I doubt they're even gonna bother hiring older guys anymore.

Cage "didn't work out" cause his wife complained about his lack of direction and push, so Tony responded to that criticism by burying his *** and pulling him off tv.

I completely agree with your sentiment about all three (more or less) and Lio did himself no favors mouthing off about backstage stuff (literally on the record) publicly while in WWE.

We don't yet know the full details pertaining to his leaving AEW, but if his sticking up for Swole (or her thoughts/criticism) played a part in his departure that is something entirely different, IMO.
