After Dynamite went off the air, Ruby Soho announced that she's pregnant. Her and Angelo Parker are dating IRL so they are just taking their relationship to TV, she last competed Feb 7th.

You know you messed up when you made Danhausen swear. Yeah I still don't get it, but hey guess wrestling is real whenever you want it to be. This is one way to beat all those accusations of being fake.

Forbes says AEW is valued at 2b.

For comparison, WWE is valued at 7b.

Those numbers seem a lot closer than I thought it would be. Either AEW is overvalued or WWE is undervalued.

Not a shot at AEW, but just feels weird thinking the valuation difference between them and WWE is x3.

I don't for a minute believe AEW is worth $2 billion dollars.

Maybe $400 - $500 million at max, but even that is hard to believe since the company allegedly has yet to turn a profit.

Supposedly, the (never being signed) new broadcast rights deal would (theoretically) get them in the black.

Plus, they - again allegedly - lost millions on the Fight Forever video game and have yet to recoup their losses.

It said AEWs revenue was about 250m.

Just wonder where these numbers are coming from, because WWEs revenue is 1.33b which is just over 5x the amount of AEWs (which is one reason I don't see how AEW is only 3x less valuable when they have 5x less revenue).

But at the same time, what counts in the revenue? Like for WWE who has a 1B deal with FOX. Is that 1B paid once, or spread out per year. Same with the Peacock deal. Is that being spread out per year or lump sums? Because WWE right now is technically making $0 (minus the few who still buy PPV) on their PLE viewers, but that's because of the initial 1B deal with Peacock.

Like for AEW, is their TV money counting as per year?

The numbers just don't add up. Not that I think AEW sucks or is/should be struggling, but a company who does probably a quarter the number of live events as WWE with half the viewing audience and attendance while also making less money off of tickets compared to WWEs pricing, and has been around way less time, is so "close" in valuation and revenue? There has to be things like front or back loaded payments and other things which are skewing numbers.

Live event business means very very little in 2024. TV positioning and value are key. Sponsorships and corporate partnerships in general also matter way more. AEW is seen as mainstream, and as a weekly live TV "sports" product it has a lot of value. That drives it's value the same way it drives WWE's. It's easy to laugh right now because "lol CM Punk, Tony Khan sucks blah blah,"* but all that is irrelevant when it comes to the actual numbers and valuation. WWE's value wasn't somehow hanging by a thread when Vince was running the company like a fool for years and years, and houses were way down.

*not saying you specifically are doing that. It's just coloring people's short term reaction to this valuation a lot, seemingly.

Do the Orioles own Camden Yards? I should know since I reside in Maryland, but I don't. [emoji1][emoji28]

If history has taught us anything, it’s that wrestling companies can say their attendance is whatever number and declare it loud enough to be recognized as that. I imagine the same can be said for finances. I would question transparency, accountability and credibility for most numbers reported by these companies unless there is an actual audit taking place.

Looking for some hotel help if anyone has been to All Out in Chicago before or Chicago in general. I'm looking to do the All In/All Out Double, fly to London for All In and sight see. Fly to Chicago for All Out the next week, and going to a Cubs Game the Monday after All Out so I can see a game at Wrigley Field. I notice that the NOW Arena is farther out from downtown Chicago, so where's the best place I can stay that's a middle ground between the NOW Arena and Downtown Chicago?

I can’t recommend one hotel over another but any of the millions around the O’Hare airport is probably going to be your best middle ground here.

I feel like every time AEW starts getting back on the right track... Toby Khan opens his mouth and derails everything. TK went on NFL Network and said WWE is the Harvey Weinstein of Pro Wrestling.

Like... that's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

He saw those television (terrible/worrying) ratings for his 'genius angle' with the Bucks/Perry, has no 'Game Changers' or 'Big Announcements' to fall back on, so badmouthing your biggest competitor is the next best thing.

I thought the UFC people were his buddies IRL, plus WWE is a business partner with the NFL, so why on Earth is taking business personally?

I just saw the clip. He's an absolute dork and does a terrible, horrible Andy Kaufman impression.
