Luckily he's the last one because Vince would've made Ilja the next gimmick (probably joining Imperium who would be nothing more than League of Nations 2.0)Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
How many weeks or months until Sasha...I mean Mercedes throws a tantrum because she needs to put someone else over?

Re: AEW Off-Topic
I'm sure she was guaranteed a title run with a long undefeated streak, so we'll have to wait a long time to see if that happens. And I'm betting Tony Khan thinks of her as an all time legend goat, so maybe she'll never lose idk.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Hey, she did it twice (allegedly) when asked to put over or feud with someone.
I love Sasha/Mercedes, but she is the epitome of a 'diva.'
And again, so are a lot of male talents too (like the guy in your GIF, LOL).
She is definitely a upper tier women's talent, but I hope she plans on evolving her character. Feels like she's been this version of 'Sasha Banks/Mercedes Mone' for 10 or 12 years.
I think he should use her to build up as many young, up-and-coming talents as possible before her inevitable return to WWE (or first hissy fit).

Re: AEW Off-Topic
If anything that's what makes it good. How many women on this kind of stage cam ever say they have (or were allowed to have) that kind of ego? Even Chyna, while she might have felt a specific way backstage, it never showed as much in the character on tv.Comment

Darby Allin: Does Insane stunt and somehow doesn't get injured.
Also Darby Allin: Wrestles a regular match and breaks his foot.
Darby Allin has to postpone his Mt. Everest climb due to breaking his foot during the match against Jay White.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
I'll say this... I think depending on what you are looking for in your wrestling, AEW & WWE both offer something different to fans. At that point, it's up to the fans on what they like but... a bunch of guys and girls wrestling for 20-25 minutes a match is not bringing in viewership to AEW. Meanwhile, WWE is hitting a home run with their story based telling. Just thought this quote from Danielson was interesting.
If AEW can ever get the storytelling aspect down, and it's not just here's a bunch of dream matches with no rhyme or reason for why these wrestlers are fighting, AEW can really regain momentum. They have the talent to do so, just missing the storytelling that brings fans in and keeps them tuning in.
“Realistically, it’s not just that particular Tuesday night. It’s every Wednesday and every week you’re battling something. You’re not just battling other shows. You’re battling people’s addiction to their phones and all sorts of things. How do you keep people’s attention? In my mind, it keeps going back to this idea of quality. Something I said when I first joined AEW is that if you put on excellent professional wrestling, people will tune in. That’s the goal weekly. Put on an excellent professional wrestling show.”Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Punk grew their audience briefly, but it's clear Okada/Osperay/Mercedes will not. They will solidify and possibly grow the PPV numbers, but the weekly TV ratings are pretty much set. I do wonder what their numbers look like if they had stuck with just 2 hours of Dynamite each week. I think the expansion of shows has had an underrated effect.
But all that matters is the contract they get from Warner/Discovery. WWE's TV ratings historically have gone down while their TV deals have gone up. All that matters is where they are ranked for the night, and the relationship between Khan and the network.Comment
