I'm curious about something. So if Anthony Henry breaking his jaw at an Indy show is the reason why he got released, then how does Tony Khan look at Darby Allin jumping cars and all his other insane stunts? I mean you released a dude because he got hurt doing his job but say nothing at another dude doing dangerous **** that can affect your life in general.

That's like saying the Lakers released Lebron over getting injured at the Olympics,

More like releasing some G League guy for being injured in some pickup game while Draymond Green is still on the team for getting injured at a club.

      Status obviously means a lot.

But Khan is the one that allows talent to take indy bookings.

Seems hypocritical to both claim you'll "never" release talent (which was inevitable), eventually do so (when chastising the competitor for it previously) and also drop a guy when he's injured.

Why hasn't he let go of Jack Perry, who reportedly doesn't want to be there and has to work in a whole another country?

He let's one guy get away with doing 'dumb ****' on his off-time cause Darby's a fan favorite, while the guy that got cut was likely not going to amount to anything.

I think we can all plainly see that Khan is no different than any other promoter. He is an overly sensitive and emotional one, but he says and does things to solely build up support (and fuel the endless tribalism in modern pro wrestling).

It's just business after all, but I'm happy to see that a lot of the 'savior of pro wrestling' that he was portraying has finally eroded (for his non-zealots in the IWC).

MJF hasn't tweeted since December 29th, 2023 before Worlds End. Today, MJF sent out his first tweet in months and it's nothing to do with AEW. He responded to a tweet from The Rock.... quick everyone go start MJF appearing at Wrestlemania rumors lol.

"The boys" basically proving why firing them was a good idea.

Tony said it's because they've missed multiple shows, but they deny it and are calling out Dalton Castle basically saying he's nothing without them.

Showing their true colours. If that's how they respond, they're just showing why it's a good idea to have fired them. Dalton Castle with his "boys" is good, but what those guys don't realize is that you can put anyone in that costume and it would work the same, which is probably what they're gonna do, just have random/Indy talent fill the role of the boys on a rotating basis.

Obviously The Boys could have handled it differently, but the same can be said for Tony Khan. Just outright publicly stating why you are releasing talents and saying they missed shows, it continues bringing attention to stuff that is going on behind the scenes. If AEW releases talent, just say budget cuts or their contract was up and they decided to go their separate ways. This just keeps everyone focused on the stuff behind the scenes which has been the major problem since AEW began.

Edge was right, there is a lot of good wrestling and good talent in AEW but it feels we hear more about what is happening backstage than we do what's on our TVs. It sucks too because on TV, AEW is doing a lot of good but when things like this happen, it completely takes away from it.

Same reason they've started adding more PPVs in general. It hasn't resulted in a drop in buys. Yet.

Sounds like Adam Coles injury hasn't been progressing the way they've hoped. It's a shame most of his time in AEW will be filled with injuries. AEW was the perfect place for him to go and there's no reason to ever blame someone for wanting to go to a company where your good friends AND girlfriend all work at while still getting your money. But sucks that all the hype and momentum is basically dead.

Not even talking about Nyla, but those rules (I mean the athletic commission) do apply all over wrestling. Wrestling in general does have to follow those "combat sport" rules (for good and bad reasons, it is scripted, but it's also physical and has risks which is why they would have medical personnel in the venue for events the same as they would ufc or boxing). There's also rules companies have to follow based on a States athletic commission that seem silly for a wrestling company to have to follow but they do it.

Whether AEW chooses to not go back to Oklahoma or just pull Nyla from the Oklahoma shows will be telling. Don't know how much Nyla is even on shows to begin with so they easily could just not book any match or appearance for the week and that's it. Though not going to Oklahoma at all would send a message if they want to "stand behind one of their peers".
