Re: AEW Off-Topic
Because, yeah, I agree. 10 years even for someone with main event buzz is insane.

Re: AEW Off-Topic
After watching Cultaholic do the video about AI writing theme songs, I found a website called Suno that does the same thing. I decided to play around with it, and went with AEW Wrestlers... man oh man some of these are pretty damn good.
I asked it to write a song about Kenny Omega:
[Verse] In the ring he stands tall Best bout machine calls Every move in control On his path to the gold
[Verse 2] He's an EVP too Making rules breaking through Crowd chants feel alive With his drive he will thrive.
[Chorus] Kenny Omega's here Feel the energy near Best bout machine in gear No one else we fear
[Verse 3] From Japan to the States He electrifies the gates Every match a new fight Underneath the bright lights
[Verse 4] Signature move strikes hard From the ring to the yard An omega once rare Now he's everywhere
[Chorus] Kenny Omega's here Feel the energy near Best bout machine in gear No one else we fearComment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Forgot how close we are to seeing the end of Danielsons full time career. Guess he's emphasizing full time but will be leaving AEW? Seems weird to have an official "full time retirement" just to come back as a part timer months later in the same company (it always happens in wrestling, but usually it happens years later).
So does he stay with AEW or is that really like an unofficial official retirement from AEW?
Does he go back to WWE? I don't think he's ever faced Finn Balor in any kind of match? He hasn't had a singles feud with Cody. There's other names he could compete against too on a part time basis.Comment

At the same time, I'd like to see him come back to WWE as well so idk lol. There's plenty of matches he could have, but the one I want most is against Gunther. Bryan said his contract is up in August but wants to get through Wrestle Dream which is in Tacoma, Washington.
So theoretically, he gets through WrestleDream, would WWE put Survivor Series or the Royal Rumble in Seattle if they knew they were able to sign Bryan? Giving him the full CM Punk treatment from last year.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
If I'm TK, I look at what WWE is doing and offer Bryan to be the HBK of ROH. If he still wants to do part time matches in AEW, fine but give him full control over creative in ROH. TK has already said if something happened to him, Bryan would take over creatively so let him get his feet wet by running ROH.

But Tony can offer Bryan being the HBK of ROH.
Well, WWE can offer Bryan working (and yet again learning) with HBK in NXT. Almost like what Regal is/was to HHH.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
The Stokley social media drama is funny. Calling out/telling on Willow for being shown on tv arriving to the arena AFTER the show started (aka arriving to work late).
Also, not quite TNA going to Spike once Raw left, but sounds like there's a chance all AEW programming could be moving in Canada to Sportsnet (home of WWE the last decade) once the WWE Netflix deal kicks in.
That's a big deal since Sportsnet airs lots more wrestling than TSN did, and TSN hid most AEW shows behind a premium subscription. And SN has all MLB games, most NHL games, and a good amount of NBA ones too compared to TSN who have lost rights all over.Last edited by Majingir; 06-10-2024, 04:04 PM.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
He's actually not signed by TNA, I think he was just waiting for his brother's contract to expire to see where they both end up at.Last Movie Watched: Morbius (2022).
Last TV Show Watched: MARVEL's What If?...(S3:E7).

Re: AEW Off-Topic
Oh? I didn't know that. I still think both could end up in TNA where they don't work for WWE but through the crossover could do some final matches before calling it a career.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
A sign of what could come with WWE moving off cable/network tv.
Seems like Sportsnet (in Canada) could be acquiring the rights to AEW starting in 2025.
Big news here because Sportsnet has been the home for WWE since 2014 after they purchased TheScore (the network which held Raw rights since 06 and SD rights since day 1, and also the network which launched the careers of Renee Paquette and Jackie Redmond).
And Sportsnet is the only network in Canada to air Jays games (Rogers owns the Jays), and have most NHL rights too.
So to sum it up, it'll be a huge deal for AEW. Their current deal with TSN is nice, better than anything WCW ever got in Canada even at it's height, but they rarely promote or care about Dynamite, and stuck Collision and Rampage behind a premium subscription streaming service not included in their tv packages.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
At 1:10:13 Kevin Kelly talks about his exit from AEW. Situation sucks, and it's crazy how they fumbled the bag on Collision.Last edited by dubcity; 06-15-2024, 07:46 PM.Comment

Re: AEW Off-Topic
I dunno what it is but this Forbidden Door show feels even weaker that last years. The only matches that may be worth a damn are the 2 world title matches.Last Movie Watched: Morbius (2022).
Last TV Show Watched: MARVEL's What If?...(S3:E7).
