AEW Worlds End is happening December 28th from Orlando

WWE just announced a house show also on December 28th from Orlando, just 15 miles from the venue AEW is at.

Who's driving the tank to enemy territory this time? And this time, open the garage door!

We've had a Bloodline Civil War, we're about to have a Battle of the Bloodlines next.

Cody/Dustin's nephews made their AEW debuts in a dark match.

Have to think Dustin stays in AEW at this point and re-signs with them. It would be fun to see him back in WWE but he would just be in Cody's shadow and just there to be Cody's lackey. Staying in AEW allows him to be his own man.

Very true and for their nephews as well. Stay in AEW, (if the opportunity arises) TNA, NJPW, and the indies to get that seasoning and go to the fed when the time is right.

Umaga's son is on a similar path (in Reality of Wrestling) and I think it's the right move.

And while it would be awesome to see Dustin Rhodes - not Goldust - in a WWE ring, it feels right him being in AEW carving out his own end to his story. Having too many family members trying to get each other over on Smackdown would be overkill. [emoji38]

Only reason for him to go back to WWE is some Legends deal for Goldust and a HOF induction. Besides that, he'd be one of the top guys behind the scenes for AEW.

Darby Allin has been considered for a run with the AEW World Championship, according to a new report. Allin is set to get a World Championship match against the winner of All In’s Swerve Strickland vs. Bryan Danielson match on the September 25th Grand Slam episode of Dynamite at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York, and the WON reports that there has been talk about Allin getting a run as champion at some point.

The report notes that an Allin World Title reign has been seriously talked about, though exactly when it will happen is not clear. Danielson is the betting odds favorite to win the World Title at All In, but if he does win his title reign is not expected to be long as he requires neck surgery and is at the end of his in-ring career. Allin has been discussed to win the title regardless of who wins at All In.

I still don't see Darby as a main event level talent. This would seem more like the "feel good" title win than an actual big reign. Jack Perry eventually beating Darby for the title on the other hand I think could be an interesting scenario. Playing up the "corporate champ" type stuff.

Better than another US based Forbidden Door, but I'm surprised they didn't have that show be in Japan and the January one be in London, but I guess they just want to run alongside Wrestle Kingdom more than having Forbidden Door in Japan.

Does Forbidden Door even matter anymore? It seems like the current wave of NJPW stars isn't what it used to be since AEW has been around for awhile now but I could be way out of touch too.

Forbidden Door definitely isn't as special as it used to be, but the event is basically just "AEW with some NJPW stars mixed in".

It was good at the time they first did it because it was new and not done much anywhere else, but that's good in a way that it's not as special because we have other promotions working together.

That's what the "TNAEW" deal should have been. Companies worked together then you do a joint PPV where every match is stars of each company facing off. And now it seems like that's what WWE is slowly trying to do with NXT.

Forbidden Door feels even less special considering that the Wrestle Dynasty show will be a bigger version of the original Forbidden Door concept. I would expect more matches that are just regular PPV matches on the show going forward. The theme/gimmick doesn't work as well anymore.

AEW has announced two major international shows... AEW Forbidden Door takes place August 24th, 2025 in London. Then Grand Slam Australia takes places Feb 15th, 2025.

Along with Wrestle Dynasty, I think that brings the number of PPVs up to 10 now. April and July being the only months without at least one show.

Edit: or I guess June too, if they are moving Forbidden Door to August. Idk.
